As frustrating a game as I have ever watched. Uninspired performance, with what looks like a distinct lack of enthusiasm from some of our players. Gomes kept us in the game earlier. Let's just hope it was an aberration.

Anya needs to feck off next week.
Doyley, love him to bits...must never wear the shirt again.
    Paredes...ugh....
    Vydra...not the player he was.

This team needs alot of surgery.

For all those who constantly criticise Meldrew after watching that performance you have to admit much of what he says is valid.

I don't belive that we are on the right path. Structure, scouting, coaching hierarchy, players, head coach - we are structured for the wrong league. We're not going to succeed with trying to reinvent the wheel. Too much hubris from our owners.

Why is it that whenever we play a team that presses us high up the pitch, we never seem to have an answer for it? 3 friggin years this has been the running trend and yet there's not been a bright spark at the club who has figured out how to counter that. Also cue the Joka out comments

    Edit- thanks jrmich9

my word that was painful to watch. Wolves nothing special but did exactly what they needed to and deservedly won. If they can bring a good striker or 2 in January I'd be surprised if they don't finish top 6.

The whole team besides Gomes was crap, but Doyley, Toszer, Vydra, Paredes all stood out as really crap for me.

We've made zero progress under Joka so far. Not sure what the owners thought they were getting when they went to such measures to appoint him, but I can't see why he is anything other than mediocrity at best.

The defense in the goal was a disaster.
Doyley can't play and musn't play another game for Watford.
Paredes and Anya without ideas every time they had the ball.
    Tozser > Munari > Abdi.
    Forestieri always starting.
More determination. More ambition. More pride.

So much work needed but there's a good team there.
Weather was horrible, Wolves were up for it and deserved the win.

    Moving swiftly on!

I think Joka was the wrong man but I don't think there is anything to be gained with another change at this stage in the season. On todays performance I think there some very experienced players who need to examine their own performances and then see if they can honestly say they justified their sizeable salaries out there today.

Appalling. Once again Joka just stands there saying and doing nothing. Ffs transmit and show some passion to the players and crowd. Not one player in yellow played well tonight. Well done to Kenny Jackett. He did his homework on us and is a decent manager. His team were up for it and deserved to win.

we just seem to sulk when the other team has their way rather than putting some fight into getting the ball back. we have beemn sussed out by other teams now. they know how to play us. dont give us time on the ball and they will win.

Gomes and Iggy deserve praise though

Obviously the **** brigade will go into meltdown tonight, but we were inches away from a draw on the back of 3 straight wins, no need to panic

Jackett got his tactics spot on.

    Toszer was awful.

Play Vydra in his proper role or drop him, there's no way he should be playing deeper than Deeney, Vydra needs to be making runs past Troy and latching onto flick ons and being in situations where's he in a position to have a 1 on 1. Ighalo against Cardiff please.

Parades was awful, decent player in him somewhere but my god beat a man.

Tactics were poor, Wolves centre backs were huge we were never going to win any of the balls lumped up to Deeney but we persisted with that. Not sure why.

Yet we could've got a point and maybe snatched it. Ighalo was unlucky and we threatened when the subs were made so not that bad at all. We weren't outplayed by any stretch.

Calls to sack Joka are ludicrous, I don't like the guy at all and don't see him as a long term manager but he's just won 3 on the row so it'd be an injustice to sack him.

Was it any better or worse on the telly?

Let's face it. Be solid in the middle, and you stop Watford. Look after Abdi, and the rest of the team have no ideas whatsoever. Our wide men are barely interested in crossing, which should be a bread and butter source of goals at any level, and our build up play has been getting slower and more predictable for some time now.

If I was Joka, I'd make Anya and Paredes do nothing on the the training ground but intensive crossing practice for the foreseeable future. I'd even make them start early and finish late until they learn how to put a decent ball into the box. It's a furking joke that we've got negligible threat from out wide when teams stop us playing through the middle.

We have the more quality than any other side in the Championship but we won't get promoted, and it is so frustrating to watch. We'll do ok, we might get in the playoffs, we are underachieving massively.

Absolute dire, only a few players deserve any sort of credit - Gomes, and the three subs that came on. How Guedioura didn't start after the shift he put in at Reading was mind baffling and Doyley should not be let near another Championship football pitch after what I've seen from him in the last year or two and that was made certain for me tonight.
Anytime Tozser gets man marked he comes across as a really average player and still plays like he has all the time in the world, was a huge liability tonight and should have been hauled off much sooner.
So many more negatives from tonight but I'm not gonna ruin Christmas any more than that tosh on the pitch already has done.

From the telly. Could have easily been 2 or 3 down at half time. Much more even in the second half when we had the better chances. I would never sub Igloo for Vydra. Igloo for Deeney surely. The only standout poor performance for me was Paredes in the first half. Otherwise it was collectively very average. The Joka should have been bolder at that point. In extremis last week he delivered. This week, when we were luckily on terms at ht, he didn't. Could have drawn it. But we wouldn't have deserved to. Wolves deserved to be out of sight at ht.

In the study. Big comfy swivel chair. Very large malt. Very little water. High-jinks next door. Not interested. Meldrew - come and whisper sweet nothings in my ear ...

Well that was depressing. Probably a bit too cold and wet today for us.

I've not been too impressed by Jokanovic. Our performances have not been very good under him. Fulham and Sheff Wed were outstanding, but overall I think most of the points we have picked up since he joined here have been fortunate. We were lucky to beat Reading and Wigan could easily have been a draw. The Millwall home win was also a fortunate win.

I watched today and our play was far too slow and predictable. That may work better away from home, but at home it just doesn't work. We were formidable under Sannino, but we've now lost 3 of the last 4 home games.

Make no bones about it, Gomes was our MotM. He kept us in it and had he not been on his game today could have been a heavy defeat.

Today was depressing as it really showed us to be a side that is not going anywhere fast. We are much better than that, but playing like we are, we will not achieve anything worthwhile this season.

It's another game where we've failed to beat a side in the top half of the table, and also one where we've failed to take something when we've conceded the first goal. It's becoming all too predictable.

another disjointed, lifeless and dispiriting display and that has been a regular experience over the past 7 games, barring Fulham. We're kidding ourselves if we think everything is fine and dandy.

I have to say that Joks was completely incomprehensible in the after match interview and I just fail to see how he communicates at all with his players and they cerainly looked, once again, like a team of strangers

    so disappointing....

Fair play to Kenny Jackett - can't knock him or Wolves today.

We don't have a right to win every game but we have a right to expect our Players to give a Toss !. Today most didn't seem to want to be there and I'm hoping that the Player's seeming lack of interest will be turned on its head at Cardiff !!.

The worry is that in the past this would definitely happen as we had Damn good Leadership - so this is Joka's time - his opportunity to lead our seemingly under motivated Team to victory . I desperately want to believe and hope he can !!

Excellent post, in my view. Particularly agree with the Vydra/Deeney bit.

Their current roles/movement are so damn predictable. I sometimes wonder if Deeney resents Vydra ever getting further forward than him, because it sometimes cries out for Deeney to sometimes make a move away from their goal, to take a defender or two with him to open up space behind for Vydra to run into, or Fessi or Anya, for that matter. But it rarely happens. Where are the diagonal forward runs? Where is the interchanging? What keeps their defence guessing? Nothing.
