somebody needs to tell big Nige, in one of the segments on Talk sport today he said he was planning on playing him on Saturday
@Horace_goes_up_north wouldnt now a joke if it bite him on the a*se. Have course he has some plus points as a contributor, but he should of learned by now to make less mistakes as they are racking up.
What is a pirate’s favorite cheese? Ched-arrrrgh! okay scraping the barrel and stealing crap jokes off the internet it’s amazing how much more friendly this forum is after a few wins, as I work with data I have created the following visualisation to explain this
I feel slightly guilty, but bringing it back to the game... As others have said, it feels as fans a slightly different game coming into it than others recently... We have a real chance of winning this. Spurs are not in great form. They’ve lost Kane. Sure, they are still a better team than us. But Mourinho has not resulted in a massive turn around, rather a small flutter upwards. And we have momentum on our side, they are still a bit meh. A draw would be a good result. We’ve got ourselves in a position now where single points will keep things ticking along nicely. A loss would not be the end of the world, although it would be disappointing. The Villa game is much more important. taking points off those around will be huge if we want to stay up. I’m really looking forward to this game. If we win it will be all the sweeter as there is something about Spurs I just don’t like.
It's probably too early for a sensible reply but how many 'hits' do you think can we take and stay up?
Yes. I know it's all extremely speculative and highly dependent on the results of those around us but...
You are right that it really does depend who we lose to, and how those do around us. But nonetheless there are some probably outcomes we can assume. I would say 40 points is still the target. I know it’s the classic go to number, and often a lot less will be enough. But this season teams we think are good are very erratic and dropping points, and there is no real sign of this changing. Also lower teams are picking up points. I’d be very surprised if more than 40 points are needed. Some teams will just bomb to the end of the season. In fact if it is Villa, Muff and Norwich that bomb the. we won’t need anything close to 40 points. But I prefer to have things in our control. Assuming 40 points, that means we need 18 more points over 16 games. The most likely way for us to achieve this is: 5 wins, 3 draws, 8 losses 4 wins, 6 draws, 6 losses So I would say we can lose 6-8 games, unless we hit a run of draws. But the way Pearson has us playing I don’t think we are likely to get loads of draws.
Team news “Will Hughes has done some training. He has been with us today, just modified, so won't be in contention for the weekend. Kiko has made really good progress and has trained with us to a certain extent. He's not done the entirety of the session but is making really good progress. Again, I don't see him being involved this weekend. “Danny Welbeck continues to train very well, but it's important for him that he gets a good base level of fitness that puts him in a good place. But he looks really good and we are delighted with his progress. It's important to make sure we don't rush him back now. It's great to have him back amongst the squad and training exceptionally well.” In one way not that positive. But my fantasy team is potentially buggered by Rashford getting injured, which for me accentuates the fact we should risk not risk anyone against Tranmere, and not rush people back.
Since Pearson took over this graph nicely represents how many points we have got in each match during his tenure.
I’ve spent a few minutes mulling it over, but I can’t think of a more logical way to represent the table.
I can’t compete with this, but I’ll try to think of something for the next wedge of points we win against Spurs!
My sentence was intentionally error ridden with bad grammar mistakes that posters regularly get pulled up on. It was a cheap joke at others rather than you. In hindsight, I should ofn't done it.
Genetically modified?!? He really is upgrading the players. Or maybe adding cyborg parts like the Terminator. Mind you, it's possible someone did that to Holebas years ago
Never in my life did I expect Watford to be heading into a league game with Spurs with me almost expecting a win. But unbelievably that's where we are. Spurs are still slight favourites according to bookmakers, but the confidence this team has has radiated to me and most of the fans and makes me believe a win is inevitable. Even though rationally I know it isn't and deep down I would take a point. Actually no, I wouldn't take a point. Prediction Watford 3-0 Spurs Capoue (35), Doucoure (71), Deeney (pen 90+1)
