If Fraizer Campbell was playing yesterday I feel we would have scored. I'm not exaggerating, his movement and finishing is frightening.
Tan is charging 7% interest as a loan, you also owe your previous owners millions and Stan the man and you dont know if any debt has been paid off
The only benefit of WFC.L was that you could see the financial state of the club (relatively) transparently. No hope with an owner from a country which blocks residents from accessing certain websites.
6 league goals in 58 Prem starts for Sunderland 2009-2013. I think an extremely hairy growler might be more frightening.
It doesn't surprise me Cardiff have this many clean sheets as if there is one thing that Malky does know and thats how to defend. Can't deny that. I agree though that an attacking presence does lack something for Campbell and Fraizer Campbell is not the solution. They will find it very difficult next season with this current team, you can't try and defend every game like they did against Watford, and there will be a number of opposition teams coming out to declare that all Cardiff do is park the bus and hoof!
But unfortunately you have bought someone that will spend most of his time at Cardiff sitting in the stand injured, it doesn't matter how good you are you have to be on the pitch
Just think how low the confidence of the Rokerites must have been seeing his name on the team sheet. The colour just drained out of their faces when his name was announced on the PA at the Stadium of Mussolini. Gyan, Jones, Wickham and Campbell........ Delta Force has arrived....
Even as a player he was one of the more libellous players at the back due to his lack of pace. Much preferred Dyche. Fearless.
Dyche also has a more manly voice. UFC. Sean ' The Savage' Dyche versus Manky 'The Malodorous' Mackay. Sean would win in seconds. One swift kick to the groin with a chop to the neck and Manky would be bawling all the way back to Glasgie town.
Yesterday's result means we have so far failed to beat any of our 3 ex managers in the Championship this season, taking just 4 points out of 15 against them. Of course, we still get one more chance to put that right, and just a few days after their FA Cup semi final too!!
Many on here were criticising Cardiff's performance yesterday, yet the team achieved the goal that MM set them up for, which was to keep a clean sheet. At this stage of the season it is results that count, not how attractive the style of play is. No points for artistic impression, which that lot at Palace seem to think there is. We went to Watford only needing to stop you closing the gap, no pressure on us to get a win, which our points gap gives us the cushion of doing. If we now get the 3 points on Tuesday that will autos basically sorted, with Watford possibly being 11 behind with 15 to play for. Also bear in mind that we have achieved this season, we have achieved without our main striker, Nicky Maynard, who has had an season long injury.
Next to no chances?! Deeney missed a very good chance and Marshall made an outstanding save. We deserved to edge it 1-0.
Almunia made a lucky shoulder save from Kimbo and anoter 1 on 1 save from Mason. The game could've gone either way so a draw was a fair result.
I don't mind optimism, and you 100% deserve to be winning the division. But if you cannot see that the long term future with your owner is grim then that's just naive. Come back in a year, (even though you're speaking as if we've got no chance of going up this season) and if we're not in a much rosier position than yourselves I'll donate my savings in that time to a charity of your choice.
Agree, but first you have to get yourself in a position to play in that division, which was MM aim for this season. What will happen in the future, who knows? MM has not managed in the prem before, but one thing is certain, that is the team and style of play will not be what you saw yesterday. Whether that will be good enough, who knows! But one thing for sure is he will give it his best. We haven't been in the top league since 1962, so if it's for one season, then so be it, at least then I can say I saw my team play there which I haven't been able to do in my 34 years of supporting them.
Lucky?! It took a nick and was a standard save. Mason was barely 1 on 1. We were clearly on top and had the better chances. You couldn't begrudge a 1-0.
Fair enough. At least you're realistic. You'd do better than Hull in the Prem tbf, they're more dull, although less direct.
It won't be the same. You'll be watching a shadow of CCFC. If it doesn't feel that way, it should. No trophy or league is worth what Mr Tan is doing to that club.
I have no idea why Cardiff fans think we're bitter towards them? They were ugly yesterday (first 20/25 minutes aside) but they got a valuable point and stopped us playing so fair play to them. They think Watford fans, who have seen their team in the PL twice in the last 15 years, are just being negative to them for the sake of it but it is not the case. It's from experience and observation and no amount of money or new players will change a well drilled and functional Championship team into PL standard in one pre-season.
Can't really see Malky changing your teams style that much.... by nature he is cautious and that has served him well for getting out of the championship but being organised and hard to beat won't cut it in the prem.
TH I think you do Almunia a dis-service! It was a very decent save, precisely because of the nick off Ekstrand that you mentioned.
It certainly wasn't lucky, and whilst he did well to direct it away, if it'd gone in it would've been very disappointing. The primary point is that the actual save wasn't lucky.
http://www1.skysports.com/footballleague/video/8624012/Watford-0-0-Cardiff Highlights here, I think this shows we had the better chances. I'm not saying a draw wasn't a fair result, but on another day Deeney would have easily had 2 goals.
Im glad Manky isnt our manager anymore. I was at the back of the Vicarage Road end and got hit with more balls than Will Young's chin. HOOF.
LOL at the Sky highlights, I don't think they don't show a single Cardiff attack. I know Sky now love us because we're on all the time, but do Sky also hate Cardiff or something?
Only just logged on after a busy weekend and it seems most are in agreement with most of what happened. Basically, Cardiff got their tactics spot on, Briggs was awful, we probably did just enough to win. Our midfield was quiet, 4 points and none conceded against the top 2 is a good return. One thing I would add is that I thought we looked like we were scared to lose yesterday which effected are chances of actually trying to win the game. Had we lost yesterday I think it would have been very difficult to catch Hull but with it just being 3 points it could all change on one game. I do wish the next 3 games were against top half sides though.
We as Cardiff fans or you as Watford fans have absolutely no control over what our owners do unless we buy them out, which will never happen. Look what happened with Man U when the Glaziers took control, they started their own team but Old Trafford still sells out. I absolutely hate the change in colour but I not going to give up supporting my team of 34 years over a colour change. Our current owner will not be here forever and we have had many spiv or dodgy owners in the past (Sam Hamman a case in particular). When we as fans say we will support our team through thick and thin then doesn't times like this count? At the end of the day I support my team, not the owners. Just hope that your owners never put you in this position.
Surely you should've done the opposite, boycotted the club, and make him realise what a complete ****** he is. Or as a minimum, don't take the free red scarves? I don't begrudge the fans for it happening, but I think there should have been at least some fight back. Surely?
