Watford have targeted West Ham reserve keeper Jimmy Walker as their first-choice replacement for Manchester United-bound Ben Foster. England international Foster will return to Old Trafford once his season-long loan expires. Hornets boss Aidy Boothroyd wants an experienced shot-stopper and believes 33-year-old Walker fits the bill. Source-Daily Mirror
:]] We'll sign him if we want somebody to keep the treatment table warm. Walker is a fairly decent keeper, perhaps we could do better but i wouldn't be unhappy if he signed.
We need another keeper but we need one that is going to be here over a period of time, and will be our number 1 next year and the year after when we are back in the dreaded prem again.
What we need next year is a fight for the number one jersey. That way, we will get the best of both our first team keepers. Nobody has the right to play, so mixing things up could mean everyone wins. Except the keeper who loses, obviously.
Never heard of the bloke before today, but at 33, 5'11" and being West Ham's third choice 'keeper, I think I'd pass...
nail>>>head. i'd be much happier with richard lee. i do remember walker as being a decent keeper, but that was back in our division 3 days-ie. a long time ago.
Jimmy Walker is a decent keeper but only a year or two option, what is the point if we aim to go up next season. If he is not good enough for Wet Spam in the prem, it will be the same for us, and so the keeper search would just start again. I would be very happy with Dimitrios Konstantopolous, he is a quality keeper. I am sure the club should would be happy selling shirts with his name on the back for a pound per letter as well
He might be well known to Malky and the fella did play against us at B/wood in the reserve match recently.
