Twas indeed a gloomy drizzly morning as the bear rose from his malaka pit. The only inspiring thought for actually leaving the bear's abode was that of meeting Birdydoug's bird Ania's lungs.

The trip from home to Watford junction was uneventful but within seconds of arrival at the front of Wato junc station the bear was shaken by rail rage. Having given up on the birdymobile due to road rage, the bear now had to placate a very irate sweaty. Arms a waving in the air, hurling abuse and the ticket machine being broken (Birdy did admit to breaking it) whinging about losing his credit card and then the full crux of the Birdy's disaster hit me as he handed me my train tickets. " you owe me £75 for the fare, it was the only tickets I could get and I have to pay £350 because they issed me 4 sets". It is not often the Birdydoug goes into wobbly mode, but this was indeed the morning that England got the wrath of the kilted one.

I quickly remimded him of our rendezvous with the two Polish girls and I went over to procure our coffees and some fodder for the journey and to catch up with Ania and Monika. Alas the lungs did not turn up and we wre left with the warmth of two tasty Latte's.

The journey up in first class was uneventful, bar Dougie raising a smile when I showed him a video clip of a tasty Thai girl bending over and baring all in anticipation of a rooting. The quiet zone was quiet apart for a lot of moaning and a Thai voice screaming " YES YES give it to me hard".

The ticket collector was as annonymous as wfcforums resident bookie and did not check tickets or claim the upgrade fare.

On arrival at Brum we headed for the withaspoon pub in New Street. Again quite uneventful other fan 3 different individuals all wishing us good luck at beating the scum in claret and blue. Birdy was sporting his yellow Watford shirt and wearig it proud and loud. The big fat orrible bird working in the pub " asked the birdy to cover up as it was policy not to show club colours". On the third time of asking the Birdy was threatened with eviction. I never new he had links with big brother, but again the dark side and the rage was oozing from his mouth, white and rabied up style.

The cab journey sounded more ideal than the number 7 bus, so we left the children to find their own way.

On arrival to Villa park we were greeted by a few rather yummy looking burger stalls and indeed purchased a yummy steak burger.

In the ground and yet again the away end reminded me of my dark days caged in Lima zoo, with no room to swing a salmon.

We left the ground under a cloud of moaning and discontentment and misery. We missed the number 7 bus that was actually standing at the stop while we ponced around finishing of our ciggy's. Walked to the nearby station and a train was waiting. Luckily loads of people were running to catch the train allowing us to walk purposefully rather than leg it to catch it.

Brum station I puchased three slices of Pizza ( wish it had been pizda) for the journey home. After two or three bites and questioning the freshness of the meat on top i put the pizza away as my backside started mouthing off, much to the annoyance of the Birdy and surrounding passengers. this went of for a few minutes and some choice words were offered to me by the birdydoug. "It's human nature , nothing I can do about it" i retorted.

Had a long chat with an old mate of mine from 30 years ago and he enlightened Dougie that I have not changed in all those years. That was rather pleasing to my ear.

Arrived Watford Junction - Dougie burgered off to the Gate and I went home via Harldsedon.

Watched match of the day as i wanted to know why the ref gave a corner after Hammer B's great shot. Still none the wiser.

At last, tv off, peace and quiet the bear retired back to his malaka pit where it all started 15 hours earlier.

Footnote - an excellent trip and day out.
