Well I should have known what what happen after the events of friday night. Sitting in traffic is bad enough at the best of times, but when an old man randomly reverses into you it just get's that little bit worse. After a short conversation with said old man, I was still none the wiser as to his motives for reversing when sitting in traffic, apparently he saw a pedestrian trying to cross. Anyway, looking back, it must have been a sign of things to come.

After waking up bright and early, I set off with the missus from Devon about 9a.m., looking forward to my shortest match day journey of the season, with two relatively cheap tickets in my pocket and a tesco BLT sandwich in my stomach it all looked to be going well. Hurtling down the M5 with oasis in my ears the good feeling continued, a random outburst of wind and rain did little to dampen my spirits.

Unfortunately, upon reaching Birmingham, the bad luck started again, after successfully following the directions of AA Route Planner, disaster struck, a road was closed, the diversion signs were anything but helpful and we ended up in a part of Birmingham, where it's fair to say, me and girlfriend were the ethnic minority. After much aimless drving, we stumbled upon a sign saying Villa park, after successfully finding a parking space, it was off to await the arrival of the coaches to meet my brother for a pre-match chat and joke.

There's not much i can say about the game. It's painful to watch us so terribly overclassed, by a team on just as poor form as us. Their movement was so much better than ours, they seemed able to create chances whilst we seem to just hope we get them. Francis must be allergic to hard work, the game seems to pass him by, perhaps both sets if fans were so quiet so as not to wake the sleeping midfielder? I must admit, I felt let down, like many people, I travel a long way to matches, and being a student, I can't really afford to spend the money I do watching Watford, even more so when players like Francis earn obscene amounts for doing so little, but then again he knows that however crap he plays, we'll still be there week in week out, thats what makes our club so great, most games this season we've known theres a good chance we'll lose, but we still turn up week in week out, even clap the players off regardless of the result or performance.

Anyway, after watching that 90 mins, I felt it was only fair I treat myself to a KFC, so upon reaching Bristol and seeing the smiling colonel, I just had to stop for a swift Zinger burger, in my opinion the 2nd best burger in the world, just behind the XL Bacon Double Cheese burger of Burger King fame. Unfortunately upon taking my seat next to the TV, BBC News 24 decided to show the highlights of our game, typically missing out any of our chances and showing all of Villa's. In a funny way im looking forward to 9.25 a.m. sunday morning's Championship highlights.

See you all at West Ham next week!
