Very quiet

thats not my opinion, it was a question. What I was saying was that I don't post much in 'general football' but do often in other forums, and I felt this was being made out to be a bad thing. So i wondered if it was considered better to not post at all.

im happy for people to 'lurk' and not post if they find it interesting. im just glad you do!

 

I agree , if we were winning everygame and fighting just outside euro places there would be loads to talk about , but how many times can you say , we were robbed , we should have won , the referee was a .... , Lets hope we get a few decent players in , lose a couple of tosh ones and then hopefully there will be more to debate.

 

Not sure that is the case, in good and bad times on the fiscal site there were never a shortage of Watford football related threads.

 

Just a quick entry into this thread from me.

Once everything has settled down, (the crowd are still coming through the doors), then I intend to throw it open to the floor the best way to organise and display the sections. For now I set it up exactly as a forum I used to be a big part of with a great community.

We will surely evolve, but first people need to known what they like and don't like, which takes time.

Agreed there was duplication but it wasn't a massive problem as normally one thread became much stronger than the other.

 

Surely you would expect any forum no matter what the subject matter would have a very high % of its posts relevant to the subject matter?

I use another forum as much as here, and I am not saying this is right but using it as an example, every single forum bar two has a direct link to the subject matter. One is called Gutter that is subscription only and lightly used the other is called General Discussions, this is heavily used. Now this site has over a 1000 active members and the great thing about General is you can ask anything and within that membership someone will be able to give some detailed advise and the subjects discussed are very wide and diverse. You can basically get help with anything.

but what it doesn't do is detract from what the site was set up to be about.

you certainly put me off the main boards, no offence meant at all, but why would I choose to post somewhere when established members seem to rip the sh1t out of everyone else, especially new members, after all you thought I was a wind up on the main board when all I was doing was trying to get some information.

you have a point there Faith, I also found it hard to post on the main boards because it was a bit cliquey. I am worried about that happening here too. It is hard to post sometimes in a 'football' thread because there are so many people on here at times and a lot of us have the same opinions. Whats the point in me saying the same thing that's been said before? then i wold get accused of spamming or ignored or ridiculed!! You can't win!
