...is probably the only word I can use that's not going to get me banned on here, to describe the England Rugby team performance yesterday.

    28-10 against a bunch of part-timers

Granted a win is a win, but had we been playing one of the big guns (like we will be next Friday) we'd have got utterly humiliated.

Hopefully they'll respond by beating the Springboks next week and raise their game....they'll certainly need to! Barkley played well but to be honest that's about it!

Watched the match straight after the footy. What a load of carp it was. Luckily I was halfway to drunk by then so wasn't too fussed at the time...

Least the cricketers knew what to do.

Only saw the last 50 runs being knocked off by KP and Colly, but sounded like a good performance by us...good to see us beating a decent one day side for a change

The ICC twenty20 world cup thing in SA will be good viewing...

A mate said that the Rugby was carp, and that he was very disappointed that he didn't watch the football instead.

Could have watched both. ITV4 showed the rugby at 7 after the footy finished.

In that case he was disappointed he didn't watch the football, then find out the score and not bother to watch the rugby ;D

Did you notice that at the end of the footy when McClaren was interviewed the BBC introduced him with the news that we had won the rugby and cricket as well, as a spoiler for anyone who was planning on switching over and watching without knowing how it ended?

Yeah I did actually. Was hanging on watching the post-match guff that I usually skip because the rugby programme didn't start 'til 7 and Stubbs went and kind of ruined it with his comment. I mean, I knew England would win the rugby but to be fair at 3-3 after 25 mins I might have started to sniff a shock if I didn't already know the outcome :dismay:
