Same Same.... Are we actually creating hypothetical bad situations just because we have nothing to be negative about.
My mate from Nottingham said Deeney didn't travel with the squad to the City Ground yesterday. Make of that what you will.
I've had an update from my source. Still no sign of Deeney on the team coach. I'm not saying anything more than that at this stage. Do your own work.
I'm glad he didn't travel to the City Ground cos he'd risk being late for kick off against Forrest at the Vic!
I don't think there is much chance of him being rotated onto the subs bench before the end of the transfer window.
He lives in Birmingham and travels to LC for training every day. Makes sense he goes straight there rather than travel with the team.
Presumably a deal's already been done and Leicester are just waiting for international clearance/football league approval/muscles to rebalance.
But if deeney goes to LC I don't think he will cope with a cold wet February evening in Barnsley. My only hope is we can somehow keep hold of him.
On the basis of his last two performances, I'm not sure he should start our next league game anyway. I'm a big deeney fan, but he has not looked himself in the last two games. Perhaps dropping him to the bench for Acuna for a game, may do him the world of good.
Dropping Deeney would be nonsense... He's our main threat therefore he's going to be the main worry for the opposition. We need to reduce our reliance on him to give the opposition other things to worry about. That way it frees Deeney up to do what he does best - punish the opposition. IMHO once a few of our new recruits have settled more it will leave Deeney with more room on the pitch. Drop our main goalscoring threat because he's been marked out of a game against an early season contender - that's really going to help!!!
With Deeney, possible promotion, without him unlikely. However good their scouting is it will be difficult to replace him in such a short time. We might panic buy and get someone like Jordan Rhodes, lets hope not.
And if we did buy Jordan Rhodes, I'd argue he is a better than Deeney. Couple of years younger and his goalscoring record speaks for itself. 110 goals in 220 league starts, including 27 in a poor Blackburn side. I do love Deeney and don't want him to leave, If he did though and Rhodes was to come in I'd be more than happy with the replacement.
