[NOT HAPPENING] transfer window

Apologies if someone has already explained the reasoning behind the dates of the windows.

Am I the only one that thinks it would be better and more logical for all clubs if the summer window was moved back a month? That way transfer business could be done earlier helping new signings integrating during pre season and of course not wasting pre season games/sessions with players who are going to leave 2 or 3weeks into the season. I seem to recall some nonsenses about players contracts expiring at the end of June, but all you have to do to mitigate that is either reduce their contracts by 1 month or add 11 months on?

 

Totally agree, transfers completed before the season kicks off, you keep the squad you start with.

 

The transfer window tends to be aligned with most of the other major leagues in Europe. If we shut at a different time it might make it harder to strike deals with clubs outside of this country. But I do agree it would be better to have all deals done before the first game of the season.

 

Would think there is also some slight advantage to PL clubs to playing a couple of weeks to assess options and being able to make last min additions to ensure squad and positions fully covered
