Summer clearout required... Deeney replacement - don't score enough goals in open play no more, having to accommodate him atm and fit other players around him. Gray replacemement - don't score enough goals in open play no more. Sarr replacement - very likely will be off in the summer, so a decent replacement will be required. Attacking central midfielder - club not resolved the 'Doucoure' type we have been missing. Left back - still not resolved at the minute, Masina isn't the long term answer for me. Senior players - clearout of those who have passed their best days, and replace them with some quality.
The ones in bold can't be done, as they are either on bigger contracts than anyone in their right mind would pay (Deeney/Gray), or are on contract lengths that nobody will match (Cathcart/Cleverly). On top of all this I imagine Hughes will leave as well as Sarr if we don't go up. Big 4 months coming up for our medium term future.
That depends if the club has the balls to say that they no longer have a future at the club. Then the players can join another club for possibly less money depending on their situation, knowing they will be playing or have a chance of playing . Happens at other clubs, can't see why it can't happen with us. As long as the club are spurting out the same cr*p to the players as they do to the media, i.e. they are still important to us, still have a role to play, etc etc, then yes you are right they wont go anywhere.
Bill Gilmour could be available on loan and would be a perfect Capoue replacement for us, in my opinion. Lampard just said this in his post-match interview after Gilmour played in the Cup v Luton: ""At the moment, he won't go on loan but we will keep it open until the end of the month." I don't know if they're looking for Premier League interest, or why they'd loan him out at all frankly, but he looks superb.
Surely a lot of this depends hugely on which division we are in. I doubt a bigger club would want to sign Sarr for the fee we would want, given his form this season, so he might still be with us in the PL. Masina, on the other hand, is fine in the Championship but possibly would ultimately need replacing in the PL. Gray of course hasn’t scored enough goals ever since he signed for us but shifting him before the end of his contract looks difficult, irrespective of promotion or not.
This is incorrect and covered by me in the Gray thread. He isn't scoring enough goals for us any more as I stated in my post is correct. Yes, my post was based on if we were promoted, I should've mentioned that.
Sorry, I might have missed your Gray argument in the other thread but I do think it’s very damning that he has never scored more than one goal in a game for us in three and a half seasons. I also can’t remember any performance of his that would qualify even as a contender for Man of the Match.
He's not a defensive midfielder. We already have one lightweight ball-playing midfielder on loan from a PL club not getting any minutes, we don't need to add another one.
He is significantly better than Garner. Better with the ball and better at winning it too. Many Chelsea fans on Twitter think he should be starting for them at the base of midfield in the Premier League and are outraged at the prospect of him being loaned out.
It’s not incorrect as many many people have pointed out to you. You actually gave very little factual evidence in that thread, even when repeatedly asked to provide some. Others who have criticised him showed you stats that backed up their valid criticisms...you just said things that have little basis of truth but think because you said them, that makes them true. But you continue living in that dreamland - you know, the one where you also tried to shut people down re. Ivic by saying there was no way he was getting sacked...only for him to promptly get sacked that very same week.
Regardless of whether he’s better or not, we surely wouldn’t consider taking him on loan whilst Garner is still here. Would require that loan to be terminated I’m sure. Chelsea would also want a loan where he plays every week without question - as good as Gilmour is, I’m not sure we are in a position where we can absolutely guarantee that. They’d maybe also see that Garner isn’t playing too and be concerned we aren’t progressing loanees careers.
I can only assume they're hesitant about throwing a kid in the fire with the situation they are in at the moment, even though he could be better than anyone they have at the moment. Would be an incredible signing for us, would be amazed if he gets loaned to the Championship
He gets in our best team, no question. Of course he wouldn't play every game though, there has to be rotation of the squad, but he'd certainly play most games
When do Deeney and Gray's contracts run out? Deeney has been good of late, but not good enough to justify the eye-watering wages he's on...
By senior players I guess you mean Cleverley and Cathcart? Depends on how much they're on I guess, if Cleverley isn't on that much, I wouldn't hate it if we kept him, we could do with players with his attitude. Cathcart seems very settled, he said he'd like to retire here... If we go up, I don't know if he'll even be good enough to be a PL backup, we seem to have plenty of players of that level, but I suspect we'd have to sign at least one CB. Masina can 'do a job' in the Prem, he's not great, but I suspect we'll have bigger fish to fry in the summer
Unsurprisingly, you have sent me another incorrect post. Feel free to read all my previous posts again to try and get an understanding of all my valid points.
I've already done that in the Gray thread and covered the valid points without bias in respect of him in there. Wouldn't be appropriate here as this is the Transfer suggestions thread.
I wouldn't bother. He's been asked time and time again and still can't provide anything. He just directs you to the Gray thread - where he also didn't do it. He politely asked me to do that yesterday so I did, and surprise, surprise.....it's just him telling everyone the evidence they've given him is wrong/not fair and it's actually his non-existent evidence which is accurate.
