Luton caretaker boss Brian Stein has blamed Wigan manager Paul Jewell for persuading them to take Liverpool striker Besian Idrizaj on loan at Kenilworth Road. The Austrian was hauled off after just 45 minutes as Luton were beaten 2-0 by Ipswich last weekend. Stein said: "We signed him on Paul's say-so. I thought he would be a handful but he was disappointing."
Why would they somebody just because Paul Jewell (a good YOUNG manager) says so? Seems rather daft to me.... I would at least go to check out the player myself or ask somebody from Liverpool? In all fairness to the kid it was his first ever 1st team playing in a very poor side low on confidence so I think that manager is being rather harsh. From what I hear and read Luton create about as many chances as we do at the moment!
really scraping the barrel blaming everyone, and how desperate do you have to be to sign a player on another managers say-so! How hard is it to send a scout to a reserve game to watch him! Hehe
Just shows what a total disarray they are in, didn't Souness once get conned into getting a player in who turned out to be a complete fraud?
