wise all bigger clubs than us and two are in the premiership and the other has a multi million new chairman who has poved he can sustain success at a footie club.
FCUK EM ALL!!:dismay: They will regret it when we get promoted and take the prem by storm! and they missed out on the ride.
just remember ............. Sam Parkin Julioanoioulkoio Grazziola ( spelling ) Where are they now ? The curse of turning down the horns :rant::rant:
I remember aidy saying none of the big player will go. is he going to break his promise and then give us the old i did all i could sob story. if anyone of this 3 go then we will be taking a step backwards and then i have no idea what league position we will be able to achieve.
While Simpson and Ashton quietly sneak off with all the loot. Utterly disgraceful if you ask me.... Heidar knew how much the fans adored him. Obviously wasnt convinced by Aidy which is VERY worrying indeed.
and I suspect a desire to carry on playing in the Premiership with the extra insentive of Europe footie..... Some fans were happy he didn't come actually (not on here...elsewhere) No way should Henderson go and Aidy can blame no-one for it if he did. Shittu will stay...the interest in him eems to have died down. Aidy clearly would like Bouazza to stay but I suspect its not just down to him if lets say we got an offer of 5 million or something.:doom:
Two things Rich One, Aidy has known he's been needing a quality striker for a very long time so why wasnt this sorted out back end of last season? Two, If he's not spoken to Heidar then WHO THE HELL IS HE SPEAKING TO IF ANYONE? Badly running out of patience now, if Aidys so convinced his "vision" for the club in 2010 will come to fruition, why cant he sell it to prospective new signings? Back in February, everyone kept saying "So what we havent signed anyone, we are down anyway... Aidy is obviously planning for next season" Errrrrm obviously he wasnt. Last season the LAME excuse was "well everyone else has had a three week head start on us due to the play offs" WELL MR BOOTHROYD, YOUVE HAD A SIX MONTH HEAD START AND WHO THE F*** HAVE YOU SIGNED? If the board.. oops sorry, Simpson wont sanction a couple of extra zero's on the cheque book, AIDY HAS A DUTY TO US FANS TO PUBLICLY HIGHLIGHT THIS OTHERWISE THE BUCK WILL STOP WITH HIM!
To cap it all we even had Saganowski on trial and the staff couldn't recognise a diamond as he sparkled in the palms of their hands.
(1) Until the transfer window opens and players start moving between clubs it's difficult to work out who's available. For example, H was only gonna be available if Flam could sign two strikers, which they did. (2) You know as well as I do the club can't discuss terms with anyone until they have permission - or we'd have the authorities on our backs. Of course, I'm not naive enough to think words weren't passed on via third parties but detailed negotiations wouldn't have taken place. Fact is we were never gonna compete with another Premiership club for him. I'm sure we could match them for money, but the player wanted something we couldn't offer.
Not convinced mate... Aidy has mentioned it countless times (about his need for another striker) even more recently so hes beginning to look rather foolish Ok so you cant talk to the player but youve surely got a list of targets... it feels like weve missed out on all TEN of them I disagree about Heidar choosing Bolton due to the sole reason theyre in the Premiership... theyre a team in transition and are one of my favourites to struggle this season ala Charlton Also Heidar has mentioned before about his desire to stay down south and not uproot his family hence his decision to join Fulham when he did over a couple of Northern suitors. Its not even as if we couldnt have matched Bolton for money.. weve got shed loads available IF WE REALLY NEEDED TO SPEND IT and Heidar was a player WE REALLY NEEDED TO SIGN I feel if we really wanted him, he WOULD have signed. Money is the issue here, I can feel it. Is there anyone left?
Apparently we made a club record bid to sign him and must have known what he was on at Fulham via his agent so wages were never going to be the issue. I'd rule out money on that basis. You gotta remember with Bolton not only are they an established top half Premiership team (although I agree about their chances of struggling) but H's international buddy Gudjohnsen played there for 3yrs and would no doubt have put good words in on both sides. Out of all the factors I think that was the one that really would have put Bolton on his tail...as they were no where just days before in the rumours. Although you say we've missed out on loads of strikers I'm sure some on the list were more unlikely than others. Earnshaw was never going to come here, for example. Campbell had his head turned by silly money and the chance to work with his former gaffer. H wanted Prem football first and foremost. Sharp is Blades through and through. The list of plausible reasons goes on.
I have to say that I can't really argue with most of what you are saying KJ, as I am feeling similarly frustrated myself :sad3:
Wow ok lets all calm down a bit. Firstly, we do not have shed loads of money. £9m from Ash won't even buy the bog roll for a top Prem players ****, adn the parachute money isn't a lump sum anyway. We have a slightly above average amount of money for the division we are in, but we still have less than probably half the clubs in it with us anyway. Secondly, its not like Aidy has much to bargain with is it? We went up and got relegated. Thats it. He has no experience with other clubs to show off to the players, and the club history has frankly been dire for the last 5 years. So, lets give him a break and give him a couple of seasons to sort things out. Everyone seems keen to use Reading as an example of how to build a team, but you all seem to be against the idea of actually giving the bloke some time to build his team.
We do have shed loads of money in comparison to previous seasons, as for people saying "if we get a £5 mill bid for Hammer let him go", what are we going to do with the money? put it in a box under the matress with the other £9 mill we might as well, because we sure as hell can't convince any players to come here and take some off us.
If we let Hameur go I will be pissed off. Because as mentioned it wont go to re strengthening ala Ashley Young money.
and we would only get 2/3 million for him unless somebody is mad to pay over 5 million for Bouazza who has only been a regular for 12-18 months? If Aidy wants promotion there is no reason to sell Henderson or Hamuer to be honest.
Henderson has gone, Hammer is likely to follow. Only a miracle now will see either remain at the Vic.
Other than Charlton, Sheffield Utd, Leicester and possibly West Brom and Southampton, name me one Championship club who will be in a better financial position than us.
that may be correct KJ - not the money, but if we had really wanted him. Maybe he was second choice to dj and a back up plan. why dj didn't sign for us would be more of question to raise. ( not that i am bothered he didn't sign for us) but why didn't he sign is a reasonable question to ask, why did he choose leicester over us. Do leicester have more to offer with aims and visions of their club than we do. HH is one of those deals where it would have been nice but not essential - what is essential is that we have Marlon this season and two decent wingers and an improved midfield. If we lose two of hammer, doris or big dan we will need replacements of equal or better ability.
You got it spot on mate. I wonder if it was the length of contract. He signed for 4 years at Leicester. I still also think wages is an issue with the clauses that Mahon and King have. If anything I can see the squad reducing in size before anyone thinks about coming. To much competion with 33 in the squad. Stuck between a rock and a hard place
