So now that January has ended and the signings have been made, what are your feelings? Are you happy, disappointed or neither? What do you make of the players we have brought in: - Hoskins? - Williamson? - Williams? - Ashikodi? - Kabba? - French guy 1? - French guy 2? - Ronaldo? Will these guys keep us up, or are we building for next season?
They all smack of building for next season. However the squad can only be stronger from this and there is still a small amount of light at the end of the tunnel. With only 1 of the big four left to play i think we have the better set of fixtures compared to the rest of our relegation rivals.

Not only that, but i'm pretty sure Richard Lee ROLLED the ball out to one of the full backs.....looks like they let the occasion get to them and started trying to immitate the oppostion.;D Seriously though, Aidy says in his weekly newsletter the likes of williams have been brought in to help us change our style of play so who knows, this kind of tomfoolerly may become a regular occurence!
Looks like there will be an end of season big clear out. A challenge to keep all players happy from now on.
I wonder though, how many of these new players are adding real quality to the team. It is not really enough to just build a larger squad, but to bring in players who are better than what we already have. I hope that some of these new mystery players fit that criteria.
I would be surprised if more than 1 of the trialists signed are still at the club this time next season. Read Aidy had brought Williams and Williamson in order to improve the quality of our passing football so you never know...we may have to suffer less neckache. I only hope Hoskins and Kabba can produce the goals although I doubt we will see the best of them till next season maybe in the Championship.
Totally agree! No way on earth did we need 8 players in the window! 5 max...but would have been happy with 3! I think there is too much competiton for places in centre midfield now and as Whippy woods said, tough job keeping everyone happy! We're not far away from being a decent prem side! We just need 3 quality players (centre back, centre midfielder and striker) and we're nearly there! I can see alot of changes this summer now!
i thought it was ridiculous, all we seem to do is buy players from lower league here, lower league there. but i think its because literally no top class players want to play for us. read somewere today aidy saying that John was just one of many top quality players who turned us down. so i think aidy did his best but this is the best he could get, though i would have linked mpenza or kallon or someone of top quality. its feburary, about 13 signings on from may 06, and how many international caps do we have between all the players?... (i dont no but id gess its a pretty small number...)
was very dissapointed we did not the that big star loan deal we were looking for definatley building for the championship
According to FM Cavalli is decent. The other one and the brazilian don't look amazing by any means but who knows they could be the next Bruce Dyer for all we know
