Has gone to far, I don't have a problem in general with shirters, If people wish to wear horrible sweaty nylon shirts that could make Eric Cartman sweat so much in 90 minutes time he would be thin, then let them. On the other hand I hate what i class as a ****, them mugs that wear their super brights and sit behind you all game with their flask and sandwich dribbling onto their program telling you to sit down, they are what make this football club the laughing stock of fans everywhere, also our anthem is a laughing stock, just goes to show 80% of our support cannot string more than Yellow Army in one song together!

    how about a bit of:
    We went up to Wolves,
    We took the North Bank,
We went up to Arsenal and they ain't worth a w*nk,
    But take my advice,
    There is nothing so nice,
as Kicking the F*ck out of Luton

You see your point would have some credibility if you didn't then add the bit about people wishing to wear sweaty nylon shirts etc. The only time i sweat in a watford shirt is when i'm playing football.

To be quite honest the people that opt to sit down and watch the game aren't the laughing stock it's opinions like yours that are. They support the club in their own way just as you do and have every right to sit and watch the game without having somebody stand up persistently in front of them. It's easily solved on your part by moving to the back.

How on earth does the song "yellow army" make us a laughing stock ? It gets the majority of the crowd going which can only be a good thing and i doubt other fans are laughing whilst they're getting outsung.

I hardly think sining about beating other fans up is going to make us look much better, it will merely serve to make us appear like a bunch of thugs.

    Afanof, valid point hahaha

Yes but Chewitt I should be able to stand up and support the team how I want without some div that seems like he escaped the old asylum in St.Albans many years ago telling me to sit down stop swearing and could I be more polite please... It farking football for christ sake! BRING BACK TERRACING IT WOULD HELP THE DRIBBLE BRIGADE TO STAY AT HOME!

Just as those who you describe as the "dribble brigade" should be able to support the team how they want without some oik standing up at every possible opportunity swearing their head off.
Works both ways i'm afraid, you need to realise that.

''This whole colours thing has gone too far''.....try telling that to those who think wearing yellow scarf or the shirt of THEIR team makes them inferior to those who don't. The arguments and disagreements will never end until people accept that what you wear to a football match doesn't make you any different to the supporter next to you, as long as he/she supports Watford.

Agree we need some better songs, Yellow Army gets a bit boring, and surely the 'casual' crowd don't like the song because of its association with yellow? Not a dig, just wondering?

Also, singing a song about taking the North Bank etc has little meaning to many of our fans or those like me who weren't around in those days. I think we need a song that relates to all of us as Watford fans, after all, theres one common factor regardless of what we wear, and that is that we all love our club.

  7. Chewitt

    Chewitt Forum Extraordinaire

Exactly, what's the point in singing about something that has NO meaning to you crazylegz ?

    Bringing back better days Chewitt.

Ivam I understand that completely, DJstation sorry about the word ****, I will say window licker or something next time(no sarcasm intended). Ivam i understand this but as you say Chewitt no one can have it both ways but yet they are allowed to support there team in there way why aren't we in ours???

Better days ? What so people getting beaten up and thugs meeting each other to have a fight is better days ?? Anybody with an amount of brian cells in double figures would realise they are far from better days.
You seem to be missing my point, you CAN support the team in your way but what you've got to do is take those around you into account. Respect the fact they don't support in the same way and perhaps tone it down abit when required.

Its a stupid debate. There is nothing wrong with wearing colours, I always have proudly worn colours to matchs, mainley because I love walking down the high street of another town and getting a reaction.

    Football shirts are very powerful things, they can cause your local female shopper to take a route to avoid you or they can get the locals to caus some agro, either way the power is great. Also love going on the underground in colours, whichs takes me to another point;

How many West Ham fans did you see in colours on saturday? Most of them had scarfs at the very least and they are one of the most respected set of fans in the world. What about Newcastle, widely accepted as some of the best fans in football, they ALL have scarfs, are they all *****? NO.

So, you want to pretend your the business at the back of the rookery with your stone island, most of us don't, so just get over it.

No shove it up your ar5e, I don't sit at the back of the rookery, I don't pretend I'm the buisness and what i get up to before and after games is none of yours so keep out. you are the people I am ashamed of! Now suddenly I mention one of the old songs and you lot say I promote violence! The only valid point here is The Ivam's and most of yours russ until you say I think I'm the Buisness pffft think I'm the buisness, do you know me? NO, have you ever met me? NO, so do not talk 5h1t over a MB if you want to become all abusive and take the pi55 out of me then do it at a game not behind the computer! Just ask around in the Rookery for me if you want to pi55 take to my face!

Crazyleg is it wrong when someone keeps standing up infront of them, they ask the person to sit down? is that being a window licker?

Im sure you would as would i, but there are people who dont want to stand and its rude to stand up infront of them all the time if it means they cant see.

why do you even have to call them anything?! Whatever anyone wears or sticks in their car or even claps together (heaven forbid) they are still supporters and i cant for the life of me understand why so many people have an issue with it?

Its got to the point where certain supporters are actually trying to cause divisions WITHIN the support of their OWN club.

If you think that supports your club then thats really sad.

I have no problem with what people wear nylon, clap clappers or stick badges in there car, although the latter can cause problems in crappy northern towns! I have a problem with the very unsuportive supporters

but in this thread you clearly made fun of "nylon wearers" and "window lickers" so obviously you do have a problem.

And i dont see who is being unsupportive apart from yourself to be honest?! Im not trying to offend you or anything but if you come on here and start insulting the way people like to support the club that we ALL support then thats not really going to help the club is it?

Whats the point in causing friction within the clubs support?

If you dont like people that wear colours etc then that is completely fine, its each to their own, i dont have one inch of a problem with people who choose to support differently to me, but theres no need to insult them over it and call them names

  25. Timbers

    Timbers Apeman

the only way to solve these problems is to have dedicated fans areas like they have in America where you can be a bit more vocal without having to worry about offending a family or older person. why not make say the front 5 rows and the back 5 rows 'vocal areas' and warn people when booking tickets there that they may be loudness and swearing in those areas.

An even easier option of course is to go back to sitting where you like, so if someone wants to keep standing up and signing for the 'orns they can, but at the same time another valid punter can sit with their tea and sandwich and watch the game someone else in the stand.

Crazylegs, you come on here calling everyone ***** and Window Lickers because they wear club colours, I state you think your 'the business' because you don't wear colours and 'insite violence' and you react like this?

Yeah, I made a generalisation, just like you did. I sunk to your level it seems.

Still, Crazylegs, that was THE biggest most pathetic over reaction i've ever seen in my life!

Also your song, it would be slightly more respectable if any of it were ever true.

Ain't that what we have already have in a way? If you have young ones, there is the East Stand, if you want to make noise, theres the rookery. If you feel like a posh fart like dougie (;) ) Theres the upper rous.

On reading this thread it seems crazylegs has got a few issues. You need to calm down, and learn that everybody has their own way of doing things, as is their right. Name calling i.e '****', 'window licker' is something I thought I'd left behind at school.

How you support you team is no business of mine. Football shirts for the football field only in my book! and certainly not Benidorm or the Bedroom..

That said all respect to those who do buy a shirt and the crappy gimmicks on sale in the Club Shop, when money was tight you kept the club going. Take a bow...

crazylegz why do you have a problem with car stickers causing problems in northen towns?
surely it creates things for thoose wonderful songs to be about?

and have you ever heard the team saying how the bland colours of the crowd and songs about taking the north bank helping them?
