I spent a few years in Japan and though I wouldn't say I have torn loyalties, I will say I deeply appreciated that Japan never quit and never reduced themselves to playing dirty despite going down early. Many teams, male or female, from any part of the world, would turn nasty at that point, but Nadeshiko played to their strengths of possession and passing and chiseled two nice goals out of what many would see as a hopeless situation. I was very proud of them.
