The club, is associated with whatever activities the owner and other individuals associated carry out, especially in their name and is fit to be described as such.

Did you think that about Blackpool when they had the convicted rapist owner? I didnt think Blackpool at the time was a club full of rapists. Countless other dodgy owners have blighted clubs in the past and are currently doing so, it doesnt make me think the clubs are vile or whatever as some of them are famous old clubs with heritage in the game. I doubt fans of other clubs except the scum think of the club as vile, they probably just think the owners are loopy due to the manager/ head coach meme we have become. Scum fans probably love Pozzo for sacking Edwards though.

I think fans of other don’t think of us as vile as it’s not in the spotlight that we have associations with someone who’s been accused with the accusations that they have.

It’s quite a leap to think my association of vile club = everyone in the club is guilty of the same crime?

For example, I don’t think everyone at Newcastle executes people for criticising their club, however it’s clear that there are individuals associated with the club who don’t take kindly to criticism. Similarly, the vast majority of Newcastle fans enabled them, and actively encourage the sport washing and state ownership. I now think of them as a vile club.

Let alone the likes of Crewe for other reasons.

I think that’s his point. Just because you hate the owner, the club itself (be it Blackpool, Newcastle or us) is still full of people whose lives depend on the job they have at the club and are not themselves deserving of hatred. It’s understandable that some, maybe many, hate the owner but to hate everything to do with the club, dinner ladies, players etc due to the owner is IMHO unfair. There are plenty of other valid reasons to hate the players atm :)!

Blackpool fans to a man and woman, were aware of what their owner was doing and had separated the club from the owner as they were all totally united behind removing him. The lines weren’t blurred. Pretty much all those who worked at the club were vocal about their hatred of him and even his fellow board members had turned against him.

Sadly, many of our fans still believe in our owner, his actions and his board members happily go along for the ride.

At this point it’s a false equivalence and whilst I don’t believe the club is ‘vile’, I do think there are a number of people who work within it who are complicit, as well as very many more who aren’t.

Do they? I doubt that’s true after the last few years. I do think quite a large number are ambivalent, however, partly because they accept they can’t do anything about it.

A football club is not the same as a regular corporate entity. It is so much more than the owners . It’s the fans , who were here and will be here long after the Pozzos are gone . It’s the kitchen staff, it’s the groundsman. There is nothing evil or toxic about those .

Yes the owners do some dodgy stuff . We all know this, we know how they act and have acted and most of us would not agree with this behaviour , but equally the idea of this idyllic ownership of a Watford supporter or someone with an unblemished record in business ( many successful businessmen are ruthless by definition) who can also fund what is ultimately a loss making venture is a thing of the past .

The Elton era will never return . I suspect there are questionable practices going on in most football clubs . Not least the UAE/Saudi owners who are hardly known for their morals. I understand those who don’t like it and want the Pozzos out. But understand that if supporters ever want to see us hit the heights of the premier league again then they may have to compromise on their principles in relation to who is running our club .

Admittedly it’s highly questionable whether Pozzo could ever provide the high callibre playing staff he once did, given the foundation was based on Udinese being a champions league contender, which they are now nowhere near so I some ways we have the worst of both worlds - a struggling championship side and owners people don’t like . I’m not sure what the alternative is at the moment though. Watford will always be my club though and I will continue to support it, because it’s not just about who owns it.

Second hand anecdotal information, but I've heard at least two instances of someone shouting Pozzo Out before being met by a volley of abuse from other Watford fans. A recent twitter poll also still had him around 50% support.

So the ownership and the club can be separated then? All down to semantics and who and what you think a club is. Personal perception.

Saying the club is vile because of Pozzo is destructive, I prefer to be defiant, **** Pozzo, get out of OUR club you ****.

I'm not sure that statement is true. I think most are in the "we could with new owner" bracket but maybe not the whole hate part. The chap at Blackpool was very different to Pozzo

Can you show this poll and you've heard two instances of people shouting Pozzo out yet you stopped going a while ago so when was this.
Edit - Just realised it's not you that has said this. I would be amazed if a poll asking if Pozzo should stay or not would not be 80% minimum of him going but as I said, not all of those people hate him like some do

Then I guess this is a secondary debate/argument/poll….

Is it OUR club? I mean the fans will always be here by and large. New ones are born or attracted but some die or fade/walk away.

But we don’t own it. It’s someone else’s property and they are free to do with it as they want.

Telling an owner to get out of OUR club is dubious, yet noble. In my opinion. Is it not odd to think it’s okay to tell an owner to get out of our club - but simultaneously hold the belief that saying ‘Pozzo Out’ is futile as they won’t sack themselves? Pick a narrative I’d say or give equal energy to both.

Poll was on twitter when Ismael was winning on the road fairly regularly. Obviously I'm not going to trawl through twitter to find it to please you, but I concede a few good or bad results either way impact the poll 20% due to the absurd short natured views of our fanbase. WD18 can change views within 3 days.

That's a pretty hard question to have a definite answer. As you correctly stated, Pozzo is the "outright" legal director, but he has stated he is not the owner. As fans' we contribute to the running of the club, as match day revenues, club shop sales, tickets etc. all go towards financing the club and making it tick over each month. If every single fan stopped going to games, buying merch and boycotting everything to do with the club, it would be crippled. As much as advertising revenue goes into it (Mr. Q on the shirts for example) it would in no way cover the annual income a club makes from fans.

We do not legally "own" Watford FC of course not, but we have a massive say in if the club continues to trade. It's like any business really. If people don't use the services the provide, then over time they go bankrupt/administration/liquidation. Gino would have to take out even more loans to cover the costs and in that situation he would have no choice but hand over the daily operating of the club to Administrators.

'Epiche' is a slang term/colloquialism originating at Exeter University lacrosse club in the early 2010s. It serves a range of purposes, primarily being used as a broad substitute for 'good/high quality/correct'.
