Provided the club stays afloat of course there must be some advantages to dropping down a league or two. Pros Get to go places we've never been (or wanted to in some cases). Lower ticket prices. Always get a seat at the Vic (can do that now!). Maybe win more games. More opportunities for our own youth players. Get to play LTFC sooner (and Stevenage/MK Dons/Wycombe). Cons Lack of media coverage. Quality of football. Rubbish stadia (though we can't really complain on this one). Income sniffling our own Stadium development. Possible redundancies for WFC staff. Smaller crowds at the Vic spoiling what little atmosphere we currently generate. Being ridiculed by those up the M1. I think the Cons outweigh the Pros in so many ways lets make sure we don't go down.
If we go down and are actually debt free - then what is the big deal? A strong starting place to rebuild from. But if we are debt free come the summer - and still in this league - we are just one step away from the premiershyte and its dosh. All quite exciting really... u ornsssssssssssss
What do you think the current projections are done on the basis of - Championship or League 1 football? Surely the former, in which case any surplus will be eaten up by the drop in revenues.
i would have thought two sets of forecasts drawn up in the future planning - one based on this league and one based on league one.
Indeed but when speaking of our projected position in financial reports etc I'm assuming the status quo is the basis? (Unless stated otherwise).
