Are Saudi investors any worse than some of the other Premier League stakeholders?

I'm not sure they have a list of 'murdered journalists by Premier League owners'. Yet.

Also make sure no one is an atheist before they enter the ground. Though given the lack of silverware on Tyneside I expect many have already forsaken him.

Twitter reports that there is going to be an announcement tomorrow on the Newcastle take over .

Maybe to say it's going ahead ?

Not good news on many levels but mainly because it takes them out if the annual relegation dogfight.

Somehow, I can't believe they're suddenly going to turn into Manchester City.

In fairness to them they've incredibly managed to avoid it the last few seasons, despite a poor squad.

No but with the alleged money they have to spend they will comfortably turn into a safe mid table side like Everton or Arsenal.

Yes and Bruce at the helm but it should be a lot easier in the future.

Man U sound like they are in trouble.

Still probably spend 100 million plus though in the summer.

    Not necessarily. Based on what?

Doesn't seem too clever for them financially with debts increasing but sure they will cope.

Few shirt sales across the world might help !

I see the Seville derby yesterday had many fans gathering outside the stadium. I would like to think that won't happen here so that all football fans aren't tarred with the same brush for being stupid. I'm not confident however.

Liverpool v Everton must be a doubt as it's a local derby like that game last night.

I'm going to the Vic on 20 June to defend the Graham Taylor statue for a couple of hours as is my right. If there happens to be a football match on that day, so be it.

"Spirit of Shankly and the Blue Union welcome the news that games are to be played on Merseyside.

Building on the community work both sets of fans continue to do throughout this pandemic, we are confident supporters will respect safety advice and avoid visiting stadia where games are taking place.

We fully understand the importance of lockdown as a measure to control Covid-19 and encourage all fans to stay away from any stadium and avoid congregating in numbers."

I'm going to be the really happy chappy on this forum and say once Villa beat Sheffield United this evening, we won't make it out of the relegation zone again this season.

  24. How was that not a goal for Sheffield U? Goal line technology fail.

Shocking decision. No VAR this time though.

Bizarre. Even if the goal line technology fails, shouldn’t it be picked up by VAR? Assuming VAR is being used. I’d happily forgotten all about VAR during lockdown.

  27. They are using a lot of balls. Are they all chipped?

Can't remember it failing before in England but that looked like a goal. The whole of the ball was resting on the back of the post and IIRC the post is the width of the goal line.

    I'm fuming.

Villa get away with it again. Mings should have been sent off for blatantly handball ing against us but VAR wasn't allowed to intervene for a 2nd yellow. Goes on to set up their winner.

Now what, they get a result because they can't look at a screen if the watch is faulty?

Certainly looked like a goal. Shambles if there’s an issue with the technology and they can’t use VAR to check it.

No graphic that we’d usually get following a goal line decision so far. Not sure how soon that’s usually produced, but it might be mean they simply don’t have the information they usually have from the technology.

    Football is back then.

VAR and goal line technology not working ?!

Devils advocate... If you roll the ball around the post so the ball is behind the post, but always touches the post, is it over the line or on the line? I bet nothing in the rules either way.

Clear goal. Daylight between the ball and post. Oliver's watch didn't beep, however, VAR could have overruled a clear and obvious mistake but didn't.

It's just pathetic. The level of incompetence from officials in England is astounding.
