Good to see the player in a huddle after the final whistle. If we are to stand any chance of staying up then self belief is going to play a key part in our survival. My worry recently is that the players heads will drop and if that happens the rest of the season could be very painful. Nice to have a bit of hope.

If the players can believe we might just do it.

A bit of optimism never hurt antyone!

Be honest, you all believe a little bit more now don't you?! ;)

7 points from safety and a game in hand, it won't be easy but it's do-able!

Fizzy pop league next season with out doubt - who are the three teams to go down if we don't? Look at the average age last nigh of our team and how many combined premiership matches they have played then compare that to the other teams in relegation zone.

As long as we keep fighting, putting in respectable displays our relegation should not be too hard to swallow.

    Live on hope not expectations.

Blackburn were very poor last night which does not reflect their recent form.

Very enjoyable to win a game - at least people were not moaning when leaving the ground. I think thats because the gloryhunters weren't there. Freezing cold night for the faithful and a warming result.

Thats exactly it PYA, as much as we'd all like to believe it, we are more than likely to be going down. BUT that shouldnt stop us enjoying the rest of the season and hopefully the team will give us something to be proud of in the remainder of the season. All i ask is we go down fighting!

No need for the glory hunter bit in my opinion though! Midweek games usually have a lower attendence due to people like myself having exams, work etc. Fair enough there probably were a few 'glory hunters' who stayed away but to tarnish all of us who couldn't make it with that brush is a bit harsh! Anyways, See You at West Ham!

Don't take the glory hunter so literally or personally Luke - there were loads of empty seats - if a fan can't make it thats no big deal and doesn't make them a gloryhunter. however, on a freezing cold winters night the fans that were there are Hardcore indeed as Aidy pointed out. Its the fans that couldn't be bothered to go because it was too cold - bless em.

Right, thats fair enough, I'm not a fan of the whole glory hunter thing, it's unfair on those who can't always make matches etc, but we've all been there and done that. As long as people do what they can to support the team, thats fine in my book!

Personally, I was devastated at missing last night, as i'm sure many others were. I felt that your comment was implying that people only didn't go because of the cold or because it wasn't a 'big match', apologies for taking it the way I did!

I missed it cos I was abroad on business that had been arranged b4 the Blackburn game date was set. I'm sure many other "glory hunters" may have found themselves in a similar situation. Even if, like me, they're STH.

No need for apologies -i missed Man utd at home due to a wedding in Poland. First game I missed in about 60 - sometimes it has to be done - watched the game in Poland live at the wedding though, with a bottle of vodka and made one hell of a lot of noise when we equalised.

It is always the can't be bothered people i refer to as gloryhunters - no one else. I hate it when people say they can't be bothered - thats not real support or being a fan and is not a legitimate excuse.

Thats fair enough! Glad thats been cleared up! Personally, the whole glory hunter debate really annoyed me and i guess when i see the term glory hunter it brings out the old anger again!

R.E: the Poland bit...having spent a fair bit of time in Krakow, i can relate to the vodka bit! Perhaps you remember my poor attempts at polish back on the old board? Going there as a 17 year old was like taking a plane to heaven! Cheap booze and pretty girls, probably the best few weeks of my short life!

Faith and I had a word about this last night in Moons, when people say they can't be bothered it is so very poor it is pitiful. If you can't be bothered to support your team, why do so in the first place?

That would be a very very big coincidence if so so many all had business trips abroad. No need to justify yourself - we have had over 19k most games and last night was how many ?, had it been v Manure, Arsenal, Chelsea it would have been over 19k whatever the weather.

I think thats the point though Mr Bear, when the term glory hunter is used, some might feel as though they have to justify themselves so as to avoid being tarnished with the same brush. Afterall, much like yourself i dislike those that 'can't be bothered' and i personally wouldn't like to be thought of as being like that.

I've just seen West Brom only had 16 points at this point in the season in the year they stayed up. I don't want to get over excited but imagine if we did what they did.

Just need a couple of signings here and there and then what's the worst that can happen? We'll still be in a stronger position than we were in a year ago (hopefully!)

I could finally change my desktop image on my PC at work. Since the liverpool loss it was a picture composite of my head and Gerrards body - i.e. me in a liverpool shirt. But thanks to Jay's header etc. it can now be something different - something yellow.

Was it as cold as the famous cup game against Torquay when the whole ground stood up and chanted Elton John's Taylor Made Army for the whole of Extra Time simply to avoid freezing to death ? I still haven't forgiven Gifton for scoring in the 91st minute rather than the 89th !

Today I made some calculations and it is still possible for us to win the league, pending on other results. It looks as though the game at Old Trafford will be crucial.
