Why on earth would we not be starting our record signing , guess when our new wonder boy from Brazil gets here he won’t start either
As I said the number one objective of cup games is to keep Gomes happy. He’s earned it and his needs come above the team and younger keeper development.
If anybody is desperate to listen and doesn’t mind giving Swansea £5 you can listen through their website
Why Gomes? Why not one of the younger keepers, it's not like he has a future or anything I don't see the point of that at all..
This Sarr situation is absolutely ridiculous, as is Gomes starting ahead of two young goalkeepers. I hate football. Oh, and if this means Femenia is being rested for Saturday then Flores needs sacking already, and I genuinely mean that.
Is it not obvious to Quique that persisting with shoddy line ups is exactly what got his predecessor sacked?
One thing I will say is that that back four is probably better than our "first choice" bunch of s**tters who usually start.
Reserving criticism and perhaps I’m showing unreasonable faith that Sarr is being held back for Saturday. No idea why Gomes is starting but frankly that stall has been set out by both managers this season now so I’m refraining from moaning about it unless mistakes are made by him. I want Bachmann or Dahlberg to get minutes and experience but it’s a well-worn argument without going over old ground. Beyond that, I’m pretty happy with that team. Opportunities for a few players to play their way into the team. Also, perhaps in a minority, but I’m looking forward to seeing Prodl and Kabasele together. Along with Masina and Janmaat - a decent and solid effort and I’d call for them to keep their places for the weekend.
Although not online! Strange the EFL are locking down the content so hard, not exactly very progressive.
Not a bad side - actually better than the dross from Saturday. Any chance this could become our first 11?
This line up, with a chance to look at Chalobah, Quina, Gray and Welbeck is probably the highlight of the season so far, regardless of the result.
I'd be truly amazed if the usual, under-performing s**thouses aren't straight back in on Saturday to let us down again.
Gray coming on as sub was about the only one who seemed to care on Saturday so gets rewarded with a start. Pereyra was rancid on Saturday so gets punished with a starting place tonight. Joking aside that's a decent team tonight and should be good enough if they are up for it.
It's all well and good until he's "not quite right" again come Saturday and repeatedly for the rest of the season.
Why? They should go for it - doing well in the Champ, they should play their strongest 11 against our 2nd string side. I would be pretty peed off it I supported them and saw their team sheet. Well, then again it is the league Cup.
I was hoping Welbeck and Sarr wouldnt feature at all in the hope they would play on Saturday. Cant wait for them to play tonight (Sarr in some capacity) to see they wont play at all on Saturday.
Femenia and Holebas getting a well deserved rest before Traore and Jota rip them to shreds on Saturday. Lovely stuff.
