.....deserve **** all - utterly terrible support!
All I could hear was Palace, and I was closer to our end than theirs.

Appalling, I was surrounded by day trippers who looked down their nose at the people who stood up and sang

I wasn't there, but on the TV cameras, neither set of fans were particularly impressive. Palace were the louder of the two, but by their own standards they sounded **** poor until after the penalty.

Perhaps the sound simply didn't carry to the cameras, but I could hear the players quite a lot so it can't have been that bad.

To be honest, the atmosphere probably reflected the cagey nature of the game. I think both fanbases were feeling it.

Seemed alright for the most part for me.

Agree on the day trippers though. Shouldn't have been one smiling face after the game but there was plenty.

If you weren't there you can't comment on the atmosphere - I freely confess to being a day tripper but I showed more heart than seemingly hardcore fans

Day trippers quiet in The Torch, quiet up Wembley Way, quiet in the concourse and even more quiet in the stadium aside from the continued shout of ''Sit down''.

Stay at home next time you boring old squares.

The Torch was the best atmosphere of the day and that says something, we were on the grassy verge singing our hearts out which was almost impossible to sustain due to our **** support.

Yep shockingly poor, tried to get an atmosphere together to no avail. At the end of the day would prefer plastics over no fans though as the empty seats would be embarrassing. We were unlucky not to go up this season and I'd put a decent amount of money of us securing automatic promotion next season. Chins up, congrats to Palace and now move on. COYHs!!!!!

I was about a third up right behind the goal, a group of us tried to stand and sing for most but had to put up with awful stewarding, people complaining and a general sense people were happy sunbathing instead of getting beyond the team

As I looked around I could see there were also isolated pockets like ourselves, trying to have a go amidst all the folk sitting down quietly

Then I looked to the Palace end and saw the whole lower tier bouncing!

No singing section didn't help - Palace had that small section on the lower tier leading everything whereas bar one or two moments our lot never got going.

From getting off the train we were outnumbered and outsung. I was sitting on the halfway line and UEA is right, when the Palace core started singing everyone joined in. I never heard anything from behind our goal.

I'd also say that although the 'sit down' stuff is a bit pathetic the fact is if you're not a regular supporter the team gave you nothing to get excited about today.

Fans were terrible. Sat at the Watford end (hold my hands up
I was in a box) and I could hear the Palace fans much better. Palace fans with me in the box were laughing at us and me at how bad we were. Then on the way home all I could hear the Palace fans saying that they could not believe how bad the fans were. All adds to the disappointment.

I couldn't stand up. I was up so high I spent the whole time gripping my seat with one hand and the back of the seat next to me with the other. I was actually dreading us scoring because I'd want to jump up and the thought was terrifying.

We are never going to be the loudest bunch of supporters because we draw our support from the leafy shires as opposed to being an inner city club. We are essentially a family club and whilst that may be frustrating it's how it is.

Palace seemed better organised with their singing sections and maybe this is something we as fans need to be looking at rather than merely moaning.

Would echo all of the above. Too many daytrippers who made no effort to get behind the team, yes the team were playing like a bag of **** but few tried to lift the team when it was needed. With support like ours who needs the prem!

top tier where i was was better than that lower tier behind the goal - what a load of c**p.

Everyone on the top level were shouting at the bottom crowd to step it up, nobody could hear them at all, great atmosphere up at the higher level.
Why buy behind the goal if u arent going to shout at all- wasted!!

Not that it effects me but there was not a family enclosure at Wembley for the four year olds to sit, it is games like this that will make fans for life, how old were you when you went to your first match if the club is trying to increase their fan base your going to have to put up with kids at games as they are the only group that they will be able to appeal to not thirty somethings that are already fans of other clubs

It was shocking. Occasionally pockets of people started chants but it never caught on. Palace fans were excellent.

It wasn't helped by the ridiculous heat, lack of singing areas and people unwilling to join in.

We aren't normally very loud, but yes today was poor. I think the main reason we were outsung however was the fact that palace had a quite small but very vocal and consistent core of singers who were standing and singing the whole game; this in turn motivates others to get up and sing. We just had very small groups who werent really big enough to keep the singing going, and it was all just a bit shyte.

A singing section is essential if/when we are next in the same or similar situation..

I was in block 110 and saw the row about the flag behind me, there was a few of us including them guys behind me trying to get things started but constantly getting thrown bad looks and tuts from plastics and normals next to and around me really pi55ed me off! I can cope with the result and losing but if these types of supporters come out when we get to the prem, maybe I don't want to be there as it really affected my day today! I got home and my wife said are you sad, I said no as I am genuinely looking forward to 600 of us at a away game in some obscure town/ground, singing our hearts out, standing without the killer looks and comments.

Just adding my 2 pence to the thread...

Is Wembley even classed as a "soul less bowl"? I don't think so?

Shame to see that it isn't only the area that I was in that was surrounded by families and day trippers who'll never go to a game again (unless we're in the Prem or a final). Jester hats, half and half scarves, face paint, wigs, everywhere. That isn't even the worst of it, not even 30 seconds into the game and we already had a grown man telling us to sit down. Different groups of people all around the closest blocks would try and create some atmosphere but it was just never going to happen.
