Yes, Simon Burnton (the Guardian) is a Watford fan as is Mike Walters (the Mirror). Both of them have contributed to 'Tales from the Vicarage' in the past.

Mr IBB is convinced Palace will be relegated next season.
He isn't sure they're safe this season but he is a soppy tart!

Nope. King not better than Troy or Luther. Young not better than Barnes. Very close with Demerit and Sierralta though

Has someone already posted this link? Brilliant short youtube video (featuring Elton?) mocking Luton Town.

I've never seen that before, maybe this should become a terrace anthem, can someone publish the lyrics on here or pass them on to the 1881 fan club.

And if different refs didn't have polar opposite views of what constitutes a foul to a player's head.

I agree, having watched the home matches against Birmingham and Millwall makes me really glad we are back up at the first attempt, frustrating though our seasons in the PL were at times, as another season or two down here could get us sucked down to the level of the former or at best watching more matches against teams like the latter (who are the archetypal Championship side, and that's not a compliment). People say how well Birmingham played against us, and they were competitive and had some chances, but their style was more akin to volleyball to football - the ball was rarely on the floor when they had it, and their main threat was from crosses and set-pieces. The kind of scrappy style that we often played during our mid-table/bottom half finishes between relegations/promotions to the top flight.

And almost certain to lose Aarons and probably Buendia too.

If they want to survive, they will have to abandon their frugal nature this time around. The club may well be happy to yo-yo between the divisions and pocket the money but the fans won’t be. And if they don’t adequately replace those two at least, they will be staring another Championship season in the face with a lesser team than they have now.

They have a huge summer ahead.

They won’t have to abandon their frugal nature. They will have £60m plus to spend from selling those 2 players !

Yeah they are already out door apparently. Everton have been in talks with aarons since February apparently, and the deal is basically done.

Buendia has had talks with Liverpool according to their “ITK” fans on twitter.

If true that would surely rule them out of signing Sarr for the foreseeable future as well.

Yeah you would think. I have no doubt that Everton will try to sign him, along with Spurs, and Man Utd. If you believe Giraldi, then Man Utd we’re very close to signing him.

I doubt Utd will come back for him either now that they've signed Diallo and Pellistri, combined with Greenwood seeming much more adept as a right-sided forward than a CF.

Everton perhaps, though they'd have to break their transfer record for him.

Spurs makes the most sense actually for their style of play and what they're lacking.

Regardless, we should have at least one more year of him, and if fans get back in next season then if he does move we'll be able to ask top dollar.

Man Utd signed Diallo and are still being linked to Sancho. I highly suspect they've moved on from Sarr when they realised he wasn't going cheaply or on loan.

He'll be here next season, fresh new deal inked, I'm certain of it. I suspect we will want around £60m for him now personally and no one is paying that. If no new deal or he does go, I'd be watching Dortmund closely if they sell Sancho or Brandt.

Utd will likely need a top striker first and foremost to replace Cavani, so I can't see them going back in for Sancho this window.

Very few around though. If they can’t get Kane or Haaland - and I doubt they can afford Mbappe. Might be more affordable to then to push Greenwood and/or Rashford as a striker and get Sancho for the wing.

Either way, don’t really care as long as they stay away from Sarr. And I think Pellistri and Diallo mean it’s a non-starter.

Wouldn’t surprise me of Utd went in for Kane? In which case they’ll need all the money they can lay their hands on trying to negotiate with Levy.

The Athletic, in their 'exploration of Kane's situation' articles, have always claimed that Kane's value is considered at the Beavertown brewery to be around the £200m mark - there's no way Utd will pay anything like that, surely, and Spurs are in a strong position having managed Kane to sign himself into the idiotic situation of having three years left on his contract this summer whilst wanting out. His desire to leave is the only thing in a move's favour, and is there a scenario in which that reduces the fee enough for any one of the very few teams in world football who could countenance paying that kind of money to actually do so for a soon to be 28-year-old who seems to get roughly one serious injury that puts him our for a month or more every season?

I certainly think that with Levy pulling the strings and Kane on a 3 year contract, his asking price isn’t going to be too far from that figure. I guess it depends on how much Kane kicks off and if indeed he does.

I doubt Kane will kick off publicly as he doesn’t seem the type. And as England captain, he’ll be focusing on other stuff too I imagine.

No way United pay £200m. But I could foresee them paying a decent fee and chucking Lingard and Martial in...

As good as he is I’m not sure Saar will be seen as a sure bet at the mo for the big boys. He’s a very good player but there’s a bit of inconstancy lurking and still a bit of work to be done on the final ball. Foden is a better player I reckon but that’s admittedly extreme.

I think he’s in that zone where Everton will go for him in the summer, not sure the top teams will.

Foden's also a completely different type of player, so I'm not sure the comparison means much.

Totally missed this but I didn’t get the top class trolling of Lerma at the time...brilliant.

Yeah, me neither - I don't think I saw/was aware of the 'local man' thing at the time from just attempting to pretend Lerma didn't exist, but I love it 100x more now that I know. Kabs for captain next season.

Some of the scouts I know reckon the same, there's still a lot of risk attached to paying what we'll be after.
