Djokovic is not defending his Madrid title next week.
    Slightly odd.
I wonder whether he has an injury that is not healing as well as it might.

    It's all go!
Half an hour ago I was playing Team Tennis on Sunday for Hazelwood on the manicured lawns of The Hurlingham Club.
Now I'm off to the Warwick Boat Club who I'm reliably informed "haven't got any cowing Bovril!".

Tough three set win for Norrie who plays Garin next.
This would constitute a very good win as Garin is very decent on the dirt.

Norrie beats Garin in three,a very good win.

And now into the final beating Cilic in 2 sets.

Bodes well for the French Open.

Cilic is nowhere near the player he was three years ago but still a good win.
This is a 250 and most of the top 16 aren't playing.
He plays Ramonas Vinolas, another leftie today.
Good for confidence but if Norrie gets into the third round at RG he will have done very well.

    Good match this.
Just back from the Warwick Boat Club for a NPL match.
Beautiful setting,in the grounds of Warwick Castle.
Looks like it could go to a tie break in the third.

Medvedev suffering with a nose bleed and 'thwackitis' at present
Really not at home on the clay although the court is not the best.

I don't know whose collapse is greater, Leicester or Garin v Berrettini.
Spectacular from a set and 3-1 up.

Clay isn't her thing is it (she must British!) and isn't Ostapenko the lady who won the French a few years ago or got to the final?

Konta reached the sf at RG a few years ago I think.
Correct on JO,although she's barely won a match since.
Norrie down an early break v Davidovich Fokina,

Tsitsi beats Berrettini after a slightly controversial call be Carlos Bernades in the first set tie break.
It didn't look like the Greek made first bounce but the umpire said yes and the Italian sank after that.
Nadal battles to win in three v Shapovalov.
Thiem facing a partisan crowd and an Italian opponent in Sonego.

What a day of tennis and what a shame the fans had to leave and miss Sonego's victory.
Superb match and Sonego held his nerve despite missing some routine volleys.
    He plays Rublev tomorrow.
