  1. Which decade?

2015 is only half way through this one. And if it's the last one then surely SAF or the special one as both won a 5hit load of stuff between them

Pretty sure it was the Football League awards so no SAF.

In fairness, there haven't been a great many managers doing consistently well for a year, let alone ten!

I can summarise it for you in advance: "We like to transmit amazing sensations to fans. Deeney is an amazing person, Ighalo is amazing, the whole defensive block is amazing. We have good transitions. Really like the Waffor and the Waffor fans, very special. Di Stefano, Valencia, Atletico Madrid. Happy Christmas." interspersed with some classic Murray ******* up to the interviewee.

They kept going on about the change of managers tonight - of course we had a few but it seems none of the pundits actually know why..

Mind you the club they really seem to dislike is Arsenal - you'd almost think it was Spurs radio!

    Whats wrong with these journalists?

Mourinho to man u is the latest topic, gonna be their saviour they say cos fans arent happy with their style of football? I think Mourinho would be a failure at utd - the guys not just gonna turn up and rooney's gonna start playing like he did 10 years ago. Mourinho isnt gonna start bringing attack attack attack back to utd.

Then they have the ridiculous but inevitable comment about vardy leaving in January. ' So whos he going to?' shouts mark saggers then without irony continues ' a big club will put in a bid someone like chelsea'

John Cross ( the journalist sage) replies ' yes a big bid for vardy I reckon - although I expect it to be turned down' Yes because Vardy is really going to leave a club currently in the title race for a club who probably wont be in the champions league next season

I do tend to wonder that whenever I see this thread.

Out of the 360 posts on the thread, there are probably about 10 praising a feature that TalkSport have done. Literally everyone who listens to it should expect that the bigger teams will be spoken about more, in more detail, and more accurately. We're all guilty of it - I wouldn't believe any neutral who says they know more about Stoke or West Brom than they do Chelsea or Man Utd.

TalkSport are a business trying to make a profit - they won't get very far if they say 'we shouldn't discuss Mourinho going to Chelsea out of respect for Van Gaal'.

There are plenty of other radio stations which could be listened to or, if you insist on listening to something related to sport, hundreds of podcasts. I struggle to understand why so many people who regularly listen to TalkSport are still annoyed whenever they come out with something ill-informed or ignorant.

Listening to TalkSport is the radio equivalent of reading TVORs posts. It's bollix, so either learn to appreciate it for what it is or block it out.

Bit harsh on TVOR. For me, listening to TalkSport as opposed to R5 Live is the equivalent of reading the Daily Fail instead of the Grauniad, hence why I stopped listening god knows how many years ago and wished I could get those many wasted hours of my life back.

Christ, he's the worst of the lot! How long does it take a bloke to ask a question?

"Daley Thompson - When you were competing at the highest level, how many hours were you training every day, coz I can imagine you'd have to train for at least nine or maybe ten hours just to stay at the same level as the rest of the field, then another hour to achieve the level where you could take these guys on and know deep in your soul - your very soul - that you owned that track or that discus pit and that however close someone might come to that line in the sand you'd drawn, you still had enough just to push that line a little further out of their reach blah, blah blah..."

Just been hammered by Michael Calvin(always had a dislike for us I think) and *Tony Evans (Ex Times reporter) on Talksport.

Ray Stubbs was trying to say how impressive we have been (well maybe the position is slightly above where our performance probably merit..) and all they could do was complain about the Pozzos methods and how we chop and change managers/players.

Then the latter just said "it won't last" - they will be down the table soon enough.

Don't think we are media favourites yet.

*Think is a Liverpool fan so probably only saw us play against them!

Bournemouth are great though etc..excellent loan players and manager etc.

Wasn't Calvin a Watford fan who switched to supporting Millwall? I can't place any value on the thoughts of a grown man who changes teams like that.

As yes - think it was when Jackett left..

    Probably supports Rotherham now..

His main beef was the lack of chances for our Youth players (well a valid point but only like almost every other club in the Premier league!)

And anyway believe me I doubt with the exception of one or two many could get into a Championship squad - let alone a Premier league one.

Michael Calvin has a blinkered mind when it comes to Watford..... but who cares, we are barely mentioned, not at all on MOTD2 again and when listening to Talk Sport trailers and phone on yesterday we were again not mentioned.

Don't really care but some recognition we are doing well would be nice

We'll get noticed when we, at some point are in the bottom 3, when all these "experts" will be lining up to gloat. Unfortunately for them it looks like they may be waiting yet another season.

  27. Don't remember who it was (on Talk Sport) said it, think he was former Liverpool, but some point today one of the quests said that you were getting the feeling that anyone from Watford upwards will be contesting those positions, and from Bournemouth down would be in a bit of a struggle.

I think people have had a more positive view of us this season without really saying it explicitly. Bit like Ally McNally's comment that we were a C (and should be looking to do better) when Bournemouth were A and over achieving, seemed to reflect this. A bit back handed, but just showing that there is an unspoken air that despite preseason predictions, we are considered by some to have already established our fit for PL credentials.

In terms of recognition and publicity, it's not that great, because they still know F all about us, and therefore find it difficult to make any comment about anyone other than Troy or Odion. Starting to change now though, as Amrabat, Pereyra and Capoue are getting noticed, even some glowing praise for Gomes, and Success has already had some impact. They'll still struggle to mention us in the Europe mix, and maybe we are some way from it at the moment, maybe not, so I don't expect much serious recognition unless we are still there pre-Christmas. Though what we get will probably about holding on to these players in Jan or summer.

Personally I would rather Telegraph not smear our club's name by including it in their paper. They've already done their best to get us a points deduction and we're not even halfway through the season.
