You want a new right back whilst shipping out Djedje (despite barely seeing him play) and Janmaat??

Then you want a fast striker and suggest getting rid of Success....?

Ryan Fredericks. Had a very good season at Fulham, young and English. He's a Potters Bar lad too, so he could be swayed!

I agree. Top player. Seen him play a couple of times this season for Fulham on TV. Actually thought he was a better player than Sessingon.

It's probably unlikely a lot of the big clubs won't bid but what about Anthony Martial? Man U want rid so we could put in an offer at least because I think he'd be guaranteed more game time here.

Just composing my draft lineup for the upcoming season.

    RIGHT WING
    :
There are reports of Watford looking closely at Penaranda's success in the U20s World Cup so it's not an impossible idea that we'll see him in a yellow shirt next season. As of now though I don't really know the debacle regarding his work permit but that said, if reports are true and we bring back Penaranda and Berghuis this summer, alongside Amrabat, our right wing is, in my view, sorted. Unless of course we sell and replace them (It seems that people will not be too saddened to see Amrabat go) which I personally don't think is necessary.

    LEFT WING:
Currently, we only have Success on the left who was unfortunately omitted from the team last season and was sidelined for the "up and coming" Good'Bye Niang who is definitely not returning next season. However, Marco Silva is keen on transferring the zippy 'Pole from Hull' that is Grosicky for a supposed bargain of around 3 mil. If we had them both, would we need to look around for another or would we just use Amrabat/Pereyra as backup left and roght wingers?

    STRIKERS:
If we are to purchase this Romanian Andone or that other Mattio Destro guy who are both bearded strikers who play in La Liga and Serie A it'll mean we will have 3 Primary strikers (Deeney and big man Okaka who somehow manages to dwarve Troy) aswell as Zarate who can also play as an attacking midfielder (backup to Pereyra). Honestly, I like the idea of having the combination of pace and power up front but it needs to be applied correctly. As we saw in this pretty woeful season, it was custom to just hoof it up front to Deeney and Okaka who were often isolated with no support. Hopefully having Pereyra back with a slight change in formation will cure the pathetic excuse for tactics we witnessed in most games.

Also, I think losing Deeney would be a terrible mistake. One we will regret immensely if it were to happen. At the end of the day, even if teams are offering 20 million we will never be able to replace his leadership and character at a reasonable price. Especially if we want another English 'leader' they will either be overpriced or play in a couple of leagues below. Even then, the England national team consists of right bores who have no sort of character that we as fans can relate to (i'm speaking to you Milner, Alli and Stones et others)

CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS (Includes attacking and defensive mids):
In my opinion, this is the most important area of the field for all teams as it is the engine bay of the team which keeps the formation in place and without the movement of midfielders there is no transition from defending a set piece to forcing on counter attack. Without midfielders there is no team and ironically enough, last season we managed to stay up with such a terrible midfield (most notably in the first half where we had no Cleverley or Doucoure). Because of this, the team resorted to passing back to the Center Backs who would then hoof the ball over the heads of our supposed midfielders straight to Deeney who would then lose the ball most of the time.

That said, we now have Doucoure, Capoue and Cleverley who all seem capable at passing (hnnnng, Capoue doesn't pass, it's simply not in his blood and the idea of him passing to a team mate is laughable ). Whilst I am excited to see what Hi Ho Marco Silva can bring in through transfers, I would also like to see him enforce some passion into our current midfield "force" which would save us some pennies if possible.

Zarate and Pereyra are self explanatory by now, even though they have only played a combined 15 games between the two of them, they have looked pivotal as instruments of attacking threat. Even thinking about them weaving through opposition full backs (Pereyras goal and assist against Leicester anyone?) makes me giggle with excitement. On the other hand, I don't want to get too hyped because the chance that they'll both be injured or sold by January is so very realistically high.

Moreover, it's about time we offload Behrami, Watson and Luis Suarez's cousin and with that money we can look into a talent such as Allan from Napoli who seems to be pleasing to the eye according to some others on here.

    DEFENCE:
Our defence is ancient. If you add Britos,Kaboul,Hollybass, Prodl, Janmaat, Kabasele and Cathcart's ages together, it amasses to the same amount as the combined age's of everyone in the family stand... Well something close to that figure. What i'm trying to say is that our defence is too f*ckking old to cope with pace from players like Hazard, Kane and Sane. Granted, they are world class players but as it appeared this season, our lot, as tall and strong as they may be, they would not be able to stop a baby of 1 month from escaping Alcatraz. They were often so hopeless at defending corners and set pieces that we had to rely on Deeney to head away any incoming crosses. In fact, I think Deeney would be a better defender than some of them. That said, I do like Holebas, Janmaat and Prodl but we should definitely look to bring in backups to them at least. Kabasele looks good as well but I think his attitude does stink sometimes (I do like his twitter interactions with the fans though). Again, Silva is looking to bring over Hull legend Rannocchia (idk how to spell) which would be a good buy in my opinion.

    GOALKEEPER:
I will always love Gomes for the work he has put into this club. From two penalty saves in one game to world class saves almost every game he is honestly one of thee most hardworking of the lot. Actually, i'd say he's the only one who has earnt his wages to the full. That said, he is getting old and it is becoming apparent that he is making costly mistakes (the blunder against Southampton's Gabbiadini at home cost us a point which ultimately meant we had to suffer that abysmal "are Hull going to catch up" episode at the latter part of the season. But, that's only one point of many that the squad dropped together.

Ideally, I would like to see a quality replacement for Gomes. There is no point in going for Jakupovic imo because he is as good as if not worse then Gomes which is what Pantillimon was supposed to be and his career is being wasted on the bench. Therefore, go on Gino... Big up and spend 20 mil on Picky or at least someone good looking like Kevin Trapp

Penaranda having a great u20's World Cup. Don't know if anyone else is watching it but some great potential on show. Penaranda has 1 goal and 3 assists in 4 games. He is currently leading the assist table. Venezuela have now reached the QF's and waiting for their opposition which will be either the USA or New Zealand.

He really excites me as a potential world class player. I really hope he isn't wasted away on loan like some of our other players (e.g. Oulare). I read somewhere else that his loan to Udinese was terrible for him. His form supposedly deteriorated and it affected his footballing capabilities massively compared to his time at Granada. It also stated that although he isn't getting as much game time at Malaga he is apparently getting confident again which is good news.

Actually it reminds me of the Chelsea loaning system where their youth spend a good 5 years away from their actual club and when they return they are either thrown away like trash (Kenedy) or kept for a few more years to see if they're worth more than 10 million (Ake).

Agree with you mate. I really hope we can get a permit sorted for him and bring him in this summer. Has a lot to offer and would be a great impact sub until he settled. The fact that Barca are still interested in him speaks high volumes. I just hope we get to see him play in a Watford shirt for a few seasons.

Speaking of Ake I wouldn't mind us signing him on a permanent basis.

Yeah he's another player I think we'd be stupid not to sign. I think Chelsea were asking for something like £10 million which in modern football is pennies. In a few years I can see him being valued at around double that at least if he is going to continue progressing.

Highly promising along with Barco at Independiente. I also like the look of Santiago Colombatto at Trapani although he is under Cagliari ownership. Supremely comfortable on the ball, sprays passes long and short with great accuracy, dribbles very effectively and also works hard to win the ball back. I think while some are looking at Leandro Paredes to take the '8' role (Sampaoli has called him up and his performance against Juventus for Roma was clinical) Colombatto could well be the more decent long term bet. He's yet to be tested at the top level where he will get less time on the ball but he was excellent for Argentina u20 in the current World Cup. Argentina can count themselves unlucky to be out already given the quality of their performances. Their goalkeeper cost them badly. Makes Plumley.Jr look competent....

    Home-Grown Quota

    1. Gilmartin
    2. Cathcart
    3. Marriappa
    4. Cleverley
    5. Deeney (if he stays)
    6. Sinclair (if he stays)
    7. Watson (if he stays)
    8. Hoban (if he stays)

Lots of foreign players being reported but we need 8 homegrown players in our team.

I doubt Sinclair and Hoban won't be sent out on loan. I have doubts whether Watson will still be here, though i'd like him to be. Then there's Deeney, likely that he'll stay but maybe he's had enough. Maybe the Pozzos' think he is at his best selling price.

We could have up to 4 home grown quota positions to fill.

What 4+ home-grown talent would you like to see join the club?

I know it happens every year but all we hear about is who we are going sign, this rumour that rumour, however being realistic it's no good signing players unless we have clubs who wish to buy our current players, I don't see any rumours re clubs wanting all of those which people want out!
