Having committed us to certain relegation pre Foolham game, i must announce that there has been a sudden surge of optimism in the Bear. I still feel we are going down and do not have a problem with this due to the effort and commitment made by our players, but for some reason and against what Aidy said about the first half at foolham ( i thought we did well against a decent side) I am of the opinion that our football is improving with more passing and wing play. Tamas has come in and done very well and I was very pleased to see Hendo come on and not shirk from his responsability and had a fine effort hit the bar. Al bang bang and we got Marriappa de de de have come in and are doing fine and Macca has added to his game by tracking back and tackling, which is what i wanted to see as I believe what ever division we are in next season it is very important to groom and let the young players gain experience. One has to remember the young guns have grown up together through the acadamy and know each other well and how each play through the years of training and playing together.

I am also pretty impressed with the attitude of the majority of fans ( except one really ignorant stupid barsteward at foolham who really wound me up with his abuse at Tommy Smith and I came so close to losing the plot and wacking him, but thanks to some words of wisdom by Bubble of all people, i refrained from that action). The fans have been great, it is not easy not winning every week and listening to the pee taking of all and sundry outside of wfc . We stand our ground and keep our heads held high and that makes me proud to be part of that.

So 2007 is now here and all the wrong and bad decisions this season are now to be equalled out ( started at foolham with HH second goal - contra against ash goal v spurs) Now we need to get some penalties and with Macca now getting a chance, he should be encouraged not only to run the wing but also to cut inside and make haste for the penalty box. Free kicks just outside the box and a few penalties make for as good a chance of scoring than we have created anyway.

So the Bear has regained hope of survival as he also believes truly in the underdog and that now we have nothing to lose due to our position, the players should not be fearful or overawed by any player or team they oppose.

Go for it you ORNS - 2007 the year of the underdog!!!!!!!

Ah PYA! These sudden bursts of optimism. I also suffer from this from time to time.

I agree with you though, there is a lot to be optimisic about, even if we do go down. As long as we don't sack Boothroyd and get either a certain Italian called ****** or his brother or even Dave Bassett, the future could be very bright indeed.

I just had a daydream actually that we stayed up this season, and the best bit about it was the rest of world not believing it to be true. If only this could really happen.....please....please....

I get a surge in optimism every time I’m told we are going down. There are so many positives it’s not worth listing them all and actually very few negatives (the obvious being we can’t seem to win!) It’s not like we are Charlton, West Ham or even Wigan all of whom seem to be playing with a lack of passion. As long as the lads give 100% I will be relatively happy and optimistic.

As Aidy always says, as long as we are improving we have to be optimistic.
