These 3 we're absolutely useless today! Smith - why doesn't he look up when he's running with the ball? Why doesn't he pass? Stewart - bit on and off at times, can have a good game then come back and play absolute carp again, does he have to hoof it all the time? Francis - do i need to explain? On a brighter note, thought Hendo, Young, Bouazza, Demerit and Shittu all had good games and it was good to get a point despite Reading being no better than average today.
It is tricky to play good football and have a decent match with only about players peroming in one side.
I agree im not a fan of stewart or francis and i agree they were pretty useless today! I think with smith it was one of the them games that he just didnt get into. I wouldnt say he was useless.
big opportunity for Francis today and he blew it Bangura had a pretty good game in general i think. put himself about and didnt look overawed
From day one i didn't think he was up to it and so far he hasn't proved me wrong! He's championship at best... He should look up when he's running, rather than running into a player or off the pitch
I agree, i don't like slating players but when they are constantly poor i think we're entitled to moan! Couldn't agree with you more regarding stewart's "dinked chip balls" he tries to play over the top! too much back spin and not enough power on the them to cause any harm to the oppositions defence
Bangura had a poor game, barely got involved and on the rare occasion he had the ball his passing was horrid. Young had one of his worst games of the season, i've never seen one player waste posession so much in one game. did he actually come up with a decent cross or set piece ?? Francis didn't do much wrong but like Bangura didn't get involved, Stewart was ok but again distribution was poor. Smith has been good of late but he came up against a very good left back in Nickey Shorey and had a tough time of it.
Have to disagree with you on that point. I thought Bangura had a good game and in the second half he was the best passer of the ball on the pitch.
Agree with you Danny, did some excellent covering when Doyle threatened to get in behind the two CBs.
I think Shittu and Demerit showed once again why both players are good enough for the prem. Once again an outstanding performance.
That was ridiculous, why couldn't he pass the damn ball along the floor! I agree with afanof, I thought Bangura played well in the second half, and managed to move the ball around well. Although Jay got away with another one of his 'challenges' in the penalty area, as soon as I saw Jay tussling with one of their players in the box, I thought 'Not portsmouth again!'.
Jordan was awful, first half, distribution was schoolboy at best. Second half he made some telling challenges / interceptions. Francis i can't work out. is he A @@@@ing lazy, B Not fit or C just doesn't give a toss at times? I would start with Gavin and bang next Saturday. Smith clearly playing above his level. Henderson worked hard again but doesn't look like he could buy a goal. he has a cracking left foot but for what ever reason won't put his bloody boot through the ball.
I agree Bangura did exactly what was asked of him. He didn't try passing 40 yard balls and he didn't make any rash tackles. Just a shame we can't accomodate him on a weekly basis. Very good squad player though.
Can I have two answers. A and C. Problem with starting with Gav and Bangura is that neither of them will give us an attacking option.
yeah. i know a few people that say he played alright. not saying he had a brilliant game but he wasnt turd.
