Stephenson leaves Brighton

John Stephenson has left Albion, just six months after joining the club from Watford as head of football operations.

Stephenson has been involved in negotiating contracts with the Seagulls' new signings.

He was also expected to play a key role in the establishment of an academy.

A brief statement issued by the club this afternoon said Stephenson had been unable to settle in the Brighton area.

Managing director Ken Brown said: "We thank John for his efforts over the past six months and wish him well for the future."
