Saw on SSN that West Brom have signed Chadli.. follwed by Watford agree deal with... Was really hopnig for Berahinio. but it turned out to be this fella, googled him and my first thought was he's for Udinese or even Granada.
I've "mugged myself off" ? In English please ? Vydra replaced by Oulare last year, replaced by Okaka this year. Understand ? I didn't say he's like Oulare you **** !
I think with Amrabat, Holebas and Janmaat whipping them in he could be a weapon for us. Reading between the lines it seems the powers that be at Anderlecht were looking forward to a windfall from a Chinese club (€30m), and Okaka pissed them off mightily when he said no thanks. Unlike Watford and Ighalo, with WFC praising his turning down a move as a statement of faith, RSA then came out and denounced him for being overweight. Not saying he's not, but seems a bit unnecessary of Anderlecht. (and not a good ploy if you are trying to get a good price!) Speaking of which, how much have we paid?
As been said a bit of a underwhelming signing after selling Vydra. I would normally be quite excited when signing a player that has played for Italy as recently as this year although Fabrinni proved that's not always a great endorsement!! I don't know anything about him: I'm hoping that he has plenty of pace as that's what require but the fact that he is seemingly overweight doesn't sound promising!! He seems to have played at a few Italian clubs: has Mazzari managed him before? His Sampdoria spell seems to late for Mazzari to have been there?
Is that Euros or squids do you know? ....not that there's much difference now I'll be keeping a open mind about this one. He could turn out to be very good, very ****, or anything in between. Seems like the kind of signing where anything's possible.
Saw him play a few times for Anderlecht last year. Difficult to assess how good he is because the Belgian league is so pants but his style of play is something in between Deeney and Ighalo. He wins a lot in the air, is a powerful runner with the ball but also has pretty good feet for a big man. Having said that, I would much rather we'd kept Vydra as he would give us a different kind of option (much better movement and finishing) and I worry that Okaka won't make the step up from Belgium. He also looks like he's bulked up from his time in Italy when he scored these two crackers:
If this is for us and he's Vydras replacement I will be seriously pissed off. Anderlecht and Sampdoria fans are laughing on Twitter and calling him a donkey. Why for every pereyra do we sign a diakite?
why are people writing him off before hes had a chance to show what he can do ffs? a lot of crap is discussed on here about our recruitment policy not being up to it but in a short period of time its been good enough to get us promoted and keep us there! surely a full italian international cant be too shoddy and the repprted fee is very reasonable by this summers high standards. we do need pace though!
Exactly this. Just when you think our "recruitment team" is assembling a decent squad we sign someone out of nowhere who can only be considered a back up striker of inferior quality. We needed a player, along with Success, who will keep Deeney and Ighalo on their toes. Unfortunately whichever striker we signed after Vydra was sold was always going to be compared but this doesn't look good.
Some people are forgetting Ighalo's less than impressive goal return in La Liga when with Granada. He is suited to English football. Could this guy be suited? Time will tell. Looks a handful.
