Who says I'm not an accountant?
When we do build can we move the away fans. Somewhere, preferably badly placed to make any noise. Not behind a goal, high up or low down and in a corner. Maybe without a roof but with lots of pillars in the way?
And move the singing section somewhere where they can be heard. preferably behind a goal near the away fans
That far corner of the Rookery is rubbish. Where I site in the EJ stand I can always hear the away fans and rarely our singing section. I have almost half a mind to make some noise myself
Steady on, that's just plain reckless. For a start, you'd be ejected.
I agree it would be ideal to move the away fans to a less prime position. Trouble is in the prem, there are a lot of them !
dont do it m8 it upsets all the ovvers round u
Take a clue from the airlines and double book seats.
How about station them in one of the weird car parks on top of the Harlequin?
The northern lads can still say they’ve had a day out in London & we never have to clap eyes on them.
Those car parks are extraordinary. It’s easier to navigate through tropical rain forest than find your car up there.
With AI, it should be fairly easy to gauge the buttock size of the average fan.
As we’re southern & thinner, Gino may well be able to reduce the seat size.
Liked for use of ‘Harlequin’.
Spot on, there. Intu is a ridiculous re-branding, second only to Royal Mail/Consiglia. It's only four letters, but no-one quite knows how to pronounce it and it attempts to replace a well-known name, which was backed by familiarity and easy recognisability. It might be good if their refurbishments were improvements, but they're not. I sometimes wonder at the apparent intelligence of some people who get themselves into corporate leadership jobs. Probably just a corporate empire-building thing.
The message on the exit doors: 'Missing you already' makes me want to puke. That and the sub-plangent guitar Musak in the afore-mentioned car parks.
It's a shopping centre so by definition I will never go there. That's what the internet is for (other than porn of course). However I'm sure they will have paid some city based PR company several £m to come up with the name. I once worked for KCOM Plc. They had a division called "Affiniti" or similar. They paid some top class consultants to look into rebranding that division. After months and £ms they came back with the answer. It was rebranded "KCOM", the existing name of the group.
Forza, excellent to see you catching up with the paperwork.
Leaving no stone unturned/post unread.
If I have to say the word I tend to pronounce it with a ü, the sound of which seems to give it the faintly ridiculous air it deserves. Otherwise I pronounce it 'Harlequin'.
It's that or my tax return.
End of Jan, surely.
Time to comb every WFC Forums thread ever written.
Fascinating to see the gradual rise of forum stars & the mystery of each sudden disappearance.
David Sawyer almost certainly has some graphs which could be relabeled to plot this phenomenon.
I think the away end is a bit of a problem when it comes to expansion. With an increase in size comes an increase x% away capacity needed to meet prem league rules. This means new expansion requires blocking off/opening up parts of the ground and potentially shuffling around turnstiles. Would be nice to get an update on what are in teh clubs thoughts at the moment re this topic. Been very quiet for a long time now. This time last year Duxberry was quoted as saying there would be an "announcement soon" about the plans to expand, alas not a peep from anyone.
Do we really need a "family stand"? Cue cries of dismay I'm sure, but that would be where I'd put the extra away fans.
The announcement will be soon after the Janmaat/Cleverly fitness announcement
The sensory room has won an industry award.
Delighted to have won the @stadiumbusiness interior fit out award for 2018 for our much-loved Sensory Room here at #watfordfc! Hundreds of children and their families have been able to access @premierleague football, with many more to come in the future!
Sounds like it's seating being installed in the North West corner then, along with a fan lounge too. Can't see it adding much to the capacity but every little helps.
Make the Family Stand bigger...excellent idea.
Could relocate the Family Stand to Legoland which is where those bastards prefer to spend their Saturday afternoons.
Plan is to announce at the Dahlberg benefit match.
Could fit in a couple of thousand along the touch lines as at the Wednesday game.
You think they ll be back early RD?
As far as dynasties go , I thought they were ok but I lost interest after Henry VII
I didn't hear about this. Is this to raise funds for full facial plastic surgery ?
You missed out on the big one.
Like switching to Stevenage in 78.
Watching the extended highlights of the Liverpool game, it struck me in the second half how patchy is the illumination of our pitch from our new floodlights. Distinctly bright and dim areas all over the place. I don’t remember it looking like this in previous seasons. Does anyone have any specialist knowledge about floodlighting? Are they just poorly adjusted?
I noted this when I watched back the Man Utd game.
I don't really see it at the ground, but just back on tv afterwards
"Intu" is the (existing) name of the company that has taken over the running of the center.
There are intu's all over the country including intu Lakeside, intu MK, intu Eldon Square etc.
If they keep buying up shopping centers this will become somewhat confusing.. "I'll meet you at intu" "Ermmmmm.. which one?"
And then in a few years, when the arse completely falls out of the shopping centre concept, they'll be intu administration no doubt.
The two Rookery floodlights have not been replaced yet. The new Vic Rd stand floodlights are larger and have more lights.
I guess it will improve when they replace them.
You are mystic Moog's replacement and I claim my £5.
Replaced. The new ones hurt my eyes last night. Great improvement. Thinking back to the 70/80s floodlit games were so murky.
