SPURS boss Martin Jol is ready to bid £3million to land Watford's Ashley Young when the transfer window opens next week. The White Hart Lane chief is looking for a left-sided midfielder after failing to sign Stewart Downing or Luis Boa Morte in August. Although Young has been playing as a central striker for the Hornets for much of this season Jol sees the 21-year-old as the potential solution.
As people said (thread in the Transfer/Rumours) we must not sell what is now really our only fit attacking threat mid-way through the season. Don't think 3 million is high enough anyway and why would Spurs want Young now?
There was a article in the daily mirror today about spurs and young , although i dont belive much they say.
if aidy sells him, i will be happy, as he obciously feels it was worth it, if not i will also be happy
Boothroyd admitted clubs have put bids in fot young but didn't except them says spurs weren't one of them. (Daily Mail)
I dont see the point in taking a whole load of dosh for him, it's not like a as good/better player will want to sign for us
lol ;D it's all well and good having cash to try and buy other good players but we cant guarantee they will want to come here, which most players wont want to as were bottom of the league
If Aidy sells Ash then we could do with the money but he won't sell him for less than he's worth and if Aidy doesn't sell him then I will be also happy bacause Ash is about the only hope we have if we are to stay in the prem as we have no good finishers. Ash is playing really well as a position that he isn't used to.I admire him alot.
I agree with the most of what you say however i feel that he is being played in the wrong place in the hope he will become a great striker.. i dont feel he will but i would liken him to a young david bekham on the right wing. I dont think he is the only hope we have but he is paramount to our fight for survivle in the prem.
