Manchester United will allow Ben Foster to go on loan again if he has not displaced Edwin van der Sar by Christmas. (Daily Express) I wonder where Ok paper talk, but where would he go ?
I think we'll see Foster and VDS being rotated, with them sharing a 50/50 split of games next season. If not, Oli's Sunderland guess is a good call. Fergie is known to like his up and coming players to play not just regular first team football but also in front of large crowds on a regular basis. I think Sunderland could offer both next year.
I doubt he’d come back to us because hopefully Aidy will sign a good replacement so we don’t need to rely on signing Foster in January. Sunderland sounds a likely bet, what is their current goal keeping situation like? The obvious link is Keane being their manager, he must have a good idea on the talent of the other youngsters at Man U as well
yep, can see him going there and joining the rest of Man Utd reserves. Solskaar meant to be going there as well. Sunderland do not have great keepers, Darren Ward who was 3rd choice at Norwich and some Hungarian (Fulop) bloke they swapped Ben ALwick with from Spurs. They certainly need a better keeper.
Foster out on Loan again Manchester United will allow Ben Foster to go on loan again if he has not displaced Edwin van der Sar by Christmas. (Daily Express)
Ben will not be back here next season and man utd have already said if he did go on loan then it would be another prem club.
I wonder if he will have lee as number 1 and loach as back up next season and not actually bring in another keeper.
One gossip column (can't remember which) said we were going to be raiding Man Utd again this summer for Kuczsak on loan next year.
I think he'd be a good signing but exactly that - a signing. I'm sick of this loaning crap now and it benefits WFC very little to continue grooming Man Utd players for the Premiership and England teams. My only concession to loaning would be to do a similar deal as we did with King and take Kuczsak on loan for the season with an option to buy at the end if he impresses.
Lets face it............ .................although Ben has only been on loan, he has spent two seasons with us, and that is longer than many of our actual signings over the years, so I don't have a problem with long term loans, of at least a season. The only problem is that this season he has been been unavailable to play against his own team, which personally I think is an unfair rule, as it discriminates against other premiership sides, but thats another story. Overall though I would much rather have had him here, all be it on loan, than to have been without him. I have to agree that anything shorter than a full seasons capaign is not such a good idea, but a loan of at least a season is almost as good as a permanent signing in my book.
