....to this Summer, for me it is the British Open at Carnoustie for several reasons, I was born 11 miles from the course, I hit my my first golf ball at four years old at Carnoustie, my Father was a member of the Carnoustie club, I saw Tiger Woods play when he was 16 at Carnoustie, I was there when Van Der Velde took seven on the last, my best round of golf not score wise was at Carnoustie.

How many sports can you claim to have played on a World Wide Arena apart from Golf. BTW Carnoustie is run by the Council and a Season ticket when my Father was able to play was 75 pounds and then 5 pounds a round.

I remember that, talk about bottling it!

Personally I always look forward to the cricket in the summer, whether it's county, one day or test cricket. When the sun is shining you can't beat it.

The one sporting event I am waiting for is when Lyngby BK hopefully manages to gain promotion to the Danish Super League. We are 7 points clear now with 7 to play but we lost our last match so Sunday will be key. In my mind we should be able to have things sorted by June 10th 3rd from last round.

The Open is always something I follow and then there's the ChL final which I am looking forward to. Cricket - well I do follow england but a test series v. WI can't get the blood running.

I've got tickets for the golf at Wentworth, I'll enjoy the French Open, then Henley, then Wimbledon, although I haven't got tickets this year so will be queueing. Then I'll have a couple of weeks of catching up with all the things I didn't do because I was watching sport and then it will be time to start watching football again.;)

Wentworth is good , but the Open, if you spend the week up there it is special, Sunday until the following Monday is the only way to get the atmosphere with the build up etc. Only problem is the expense.

Na, gotta be the Poole Pirates for me. Speedway along with cricket is my summer spectator sport as well. My dad once rode sidecar speedway in front of a full house at Wembly, not bad!

    Impressive.

Poole Pirates eh? The Man United of the speedway world! Actually now my parents have moved down to Dorset my Dad goes more to see Poole than Reading. However I refuse to go as I'm dissappointed with my Dad transfering his support! I did go and see Belle Vue though as I've a soft spot for them having lived in Manchester.

P.S You have to be crazier than a Speedway rider to do some Sidecar racing, and that's saying something!

The best part of the OPEN are the practice days, the rest is just a jolly as the crowds are too big.

Always look forward to the Open. A proper golf tournament. Never been to a major but went to the Saturday at the Ryder cup in 2002, waited an hour on one tee to watch Woods launch one and the git took an iron :dismay:.
Going to a 20-20 evening at Lords, Middx v Essex one Friday. Wimbledon doesn't bother me either way, (Sharapova I'd watch but who wouldn't). If I wasn't holidaying I'd seriously consider Watford in Europe. Just caught 5 minutes of New Zealand v Australia netball action from Birmingham, where can I catch some of that this summer???

I'm looking forward to the Egg Chasing as it gives me an excuse to drink far too much and hurl abuse at the opposition and my Welsh mate.

Ahh speedway used to be a follower of Oxford until Uni took me away from the area and i started to lose touch with the sport. Hoping to get down to Cardiff this year, always a tremendous atmosphere even if the racing isn't always great. Managed to catch the last GP though and Nicki Pedersen is looking pretty untouchable, even for Crumpie. Not a fan of the new points scoring system in the GP though, seems stupid you can win the event and still not finish with the most points, another classic example of speedway shooting itself in the foot.

  22. not forgetting the Copa America :)

The rugby league and cricket for me.

My rugby team has just beaten the Warrington Wolves so very happy. I am going upto Bradford next week for the game against the Bulls.
