Oh for those heady times in the early 80's ..... Sir E J, G T at the helm, players who could play the long ball game to perfection - and most of all the ambition of the Board at Watford (non Leisure Plc) FC. The plans for an all seater 36,000 stadium, with another arena of 10,000 (for Concerts/Conventions etc), a Leisure Centre, and a Shopping Centre (which was to finance the lot, at no cost to WFC) ....... so cruelly spiked by the filth at Watford Borough Council. Aren't we lucky to have a Board of clever 'business folk', whose plans are an extremely expensive 'pale shadow' of the infrastucture that a tubby rockstar from Pinner was going to give us? I'm so glad that the Good Men of Watford Leisure Plc now run the town's football club .... after all, where would we be now if it was left in the hands of 'amateurs'?
