Should we spend

I know this has been done before but now we are in the window what are everyone's thoughts. I posted mine on another thread but here they are again:

To be fair we spent 500K on Cox, big wages on Gravalaine (I think), 1.5mil on HH and then over 3.5mil on Baardsen and Nielsen when we went down - we then blew loads again in the next couple of seasons (damn Bald bas-tardo). Whats that if you don't include ******'s frivolous spending? 6mil approx

I say spend the money now while we at least have a Premiership status to float at players - "hi we;ve just been relegated, do you want to come play for Waford" isn't exactly any better than what we can say now.

We should spend some money now at an attempt to stay up but not silly amounts. Make shrewd signings now and then even if we go down we'll have some money left over to build on the squad for next season.

Yeah sorry I didn't mean we should go out and break the bank but I think on top of the 1mil we have already spent we should at least spend another 5-6mil if we can get the players that warrant it - but I guess that is the killer question.

It's not the amount spent that matters, it's the players... I'd say we should try to get any player who will _really_ strengthen us and help us in our relegation battle.

Take John/Earnshawn for instance. They'll both cost us £3-4M if we can agree on their contracts. _If_ we get one of them now, we have a slightly better chance of staying up (it's not impossible, you know), and if we go down we will have the two best strikers in the Championship (assuming King is back at his best). Now, let's say we save our money and don't buy any of them now. They'll still cost us £3-4M in the summer, maybe _slightly_ less, but it doesn't really matter. Cause they won't come to us when we're already relegated.

We should spend money wisely on players of quality who may not be interested in joining us in the summer if we're down. They'll increase our chances of staying up, and help us go straight back up if we are relegated.
