Was he first choice? No quicker or accurate than he was when he was here last time, only higher wages.. C Powell- out of favour as he's not been played much. D Francis- ditto above currently, disappointing and looks disinterested? T Priskin- slow, lightweight, yet apparently one for the future? What about now?
I think what we have are the best of who would sign for us. Wage hungry mercenaries excluded. tHe problem is our position is worse than at the start of the season so we will find it even more difficult to sign quality. 2 options: Quality up and coming players from lower leagues that will come in and hit the ground running. Very hit and miss, Troubled stars or loanees who will flourish under Aidy's guidence. The alternatvies do not bear thinking about.
Now that we've been in the Prem for a few months then hopefully Aidy should have a better idea of what kind of players we need for it.
Think you've been harsh on Smith, he's much more polished than he was when he was here a while back and his definately more accurate.
He still can't hit a cows backside with a banjo however Aidy seems to have now lent him a double bass.
should we be excited about new signings well tht depends if we get 2 new strikers in and another centre back with possibly a left back too and if there fairly decent players or in the strikers case just somoene who knows what the back of the net actually looks like then yes yes we should be excited

Priskin was not one for now I feel but due to injuries and a lack of forward cover has been forced to play when not really ready.
Without overspending it would be nice to get in some decent players and look as if we are trying to stay up...rather than going into games hoping to nick a goal and hold on.
