I would personally take 3million and run, what about you lot?

Seen as we've already paid £2m for big Dan I'd rather keep him ta. I think he'll be a massive player for us in the Championship (literally!)

You need to look at what we can get for 3 mio, and who will come to the Vic. I'd rather not sell Shittu.

  5. berkshirehorn

Dan's value has appreciated after a solid season in the premiership. he's probably worth more than 3 mil now IMO, as krisvad says look what you can get for 3 mil.

what happened to the Celtic rumours?

Seeing as that's nearly what we paid for him then to do that would be daft, no need to sell for such a small amount of money.

    Celtic are also sniffing around.

Spoke to my Scottish cousin today who informed me that The Scottish Sun has in the paper today saying Shittu is going to be going to Celtic for £750,000.
Had me in stitches, how would they expect us to let him go for the tiny sum!

Danny is one of our best players,he is not going anywhere,I hope,Is an important part of next years squad.

No less than £5 million for me, even then I'd prefer to keep him. The blokes a very unique and IMPROVING centre back in a lot of ways and he will be an important player if we expect to bounce straight back up.

Yeah we definetely need to keep hold of him. He plays best when the ball is in the air, so he will be vital in the Championship.

we better not let him go, hes going to be an influentual player next year, solid centre back which is what we need!

As West Brom did last season : No sale. Top notch defender, improving. The Plymouth game showed the huge potential.

    Shittu must stay for me.

Agree with all, Not for Sale...I believe he'll be immense next season...Aidy just gotta teach him not to drop back so much later on in games.

Yes solid. Whats your problem with that????

can't accuse Dan of not being solid...he's build like a brick Shittu! :)

Considering many on here sing Demerit and Shittu's praises, why have we such a bad defensive record?

Both have far from had a solid season, way out of their depth.

Demerit has been worse I'd say. Woeful for long periods and truly found out. Shittu has struggled with the jump up but out of the two I'd say he was 100% more likely to make it eventually.

Shittu has been good and would deserve a move to a Premiership club more than DeMerit in my view.

Of the two i'd be more upset to see Dan go...too many mistakes and bad decision making though this season for Jay, wouldn't be overly upset if he was sold on.

we need to keep him if we are serious about getting back in the prem. But then stranger things have happened in football

DeMerit seems to think he does but in my personal view Shittu and Bouazza for example would be more worthy of another crack in the top flight if the club decided to sell which hopefully won't happen.

Shittu has made his share as well, Bolton away springs to mind.......

I can't believe people still keep on citing that single, meaningless, out of context little quote!

  30. Scalexman

Absolutely agree. A nothing comment blown out of all proportion, reported out of context, explained ad-nauseum and STILL people think Jay stormed the boardroom with a semi automatic demanding a transfer to Man Utd.

    Who said he did?

The Sun and other 'papers' like that will expand on little quotes and make it sound worse than the situation really is.

  32. lowerrous

Well if you realise that, then what was your source for your comment "DeMerit seems to think he does", other than a little quote made worse than it really was?

You someone did not just hear someone say sh1t and west ham and then got confused. I doubt west ham would want him.

Upson has said he is staying with West Ham even if they get relegated, so I think that will put the idea to bed.
