I've noticed that lately they haven't been mentioned AT ALL in the relegation battle, baring in mind they are only 1 point ahead of Wigan, have by far the hardest fixtures remaining out of us, West Ham, Charlton and Wigan and have still got to play all 4 of us yet this season, surely they'll be dragged more and more into it?
I think the pundits want them to stay up... They could get dragged into it, but I think their early form may just help them out towards the end of the season, they have a very tough run in, their final game of the season against Wigan could be vital! West Ham also have a tough few games, and Wigan could pull themselves away with the games they have left. It's still all open for them, it's just a shame it looks all over for us...:dismay:
Considering i do not see much difference in capabilities between wfc and sufc, what i cannot grasp or understand is why they are so many points ahead of us.
They spent a bit bigger than we did to be fair. The reason they havent been mentioned is that up to last week, they were 5 points clear of Wigan.. Now Wigan have won a couple theyve only jusy come back into it. Wouldnt it be lovely to catch them up!
One reason is that they have had lots of easier fixtures than us so far, hence their forthcoming incredibly tough run.
Err well don't you think spending can have an impact on league position? They spent more than we did, which could be a reason for why they are higher in the league. Especially as they didn't scrimp on fees for the players they wanted like we did.

Did you not read this thread before what KingJames77 said? Paddy asked why Sheff Utd are so many points ahead of us, KJ77 suggested that maybe it was because they spent more money. Maybe they do deserve so credit for having the guts to buy the players they wanted for the prices asked rather than trying to negotiate with the net result that no one of significance comes through the door? I can't see how you can consider that the money spent isn't a factor.
yes i did read it. i didnt say i didnt cosider it a factor, just not that it deserves credit, otherwise chelsea and man u wouldnt have everyone hate them. do you do anything other than use your amazing law skills to pick at others opinions? its very irritating
Sheff utd have had quite a bit of luck this season, they dont make chances that often but when they do they always finish them off, e.g. Webber against us, luck because it was offside but he finished it.
And they already had a better squad than us which many seem to have conveniently forgotten - as proved by last season...
At least I explain myself, rather than just posting "and??" I have no fuss with your opinion in the slightest (we're all allowed them and differences make for a good debate) but how is "and??" an opinion? That's true based on the league table BUT I would say they simply had a better Championship squad than us. I wouldn't say it was miles ahead of us in comparison with Premiership standard. I think their spending in the summer took them to the next level - though a little richer than us they spent a lot more.
Even with their spending, i still cannot grasp how we are so far behind them. I think their managers tactics are better than our managers tactics this season. I also think the passion he has for sheff utd is a big motivator and he is a senior to Aidy in terms of length in management. But the squads to me are very alike.
I agree with you Paddy, I don't see how Colin manages to get so much performance out of washed up fools like 101 year old Keith Gilliespe.

So you post "and??" which is fine but when I post a decent lengthy detailed answer that's "picky"? You may be right about me being patronising but I only do it to those who post silly short answers when presented with valid discussion points. You say my posting annoyed you yet it was the only way your actual opinion came to light. Otherwise your post just looked like a childish attempt to start a playground type argument. You might as well have put "whatever!"...
and is pretty self explanatory, if i didnt explain in full my opinion and reasons for it and origions of the arguement and the arguements against it and the counter arguements then it was cos i didnt want to. you yourself just said it was fine. im very flattered you want to know all my opinions and views, but sometimes i just dont have the time

i never said you wre picky, i said you just pick at other peoples opinions. you never just put forward your opinion, you always hve to find faul in the other persons arguement, lik you have done on all of this tread. wether its technically right or wrong is insignificant, it is very annoing.
