Semi Final Parking

Been on a Villa forum and got talking to a local. Here's what he says if you're coming from the M1, M6 route.

As a rule, parking anywhere between the ground and the M6 isn't too bad. You have to expect reasonable delays when leaving after a full house.

If you take the A38 off the M6 but then take the first exit (on your right immediately after you leave the M6), this will bring you around beneath the M6 to a roundabout and VP is your third exit.

There are then numerous car parks along there (before you reach the King Edward VII pub) from where you should be able to make a reasonably quick getaway after the game, although it is a good 15-20 min walk to the ground from there.

Personally I would advise getting to the ground early (at least 90 mins or more before the KO) when you bear right past the King Edward VII pub you will see a grass verge on your right where many people park. Ideal for a quick getaway and within a 15 min walk of the ground.

If you decide to get closer to the ground, park at the Aston Villa social club (NOT the leisure centre), again, if you get there early you should be able to park near to the entrance and get out pretty quickly after the match. I usually park there and can normally hit the M6 within 15-20 mins of getting back in the car.

I've PM'd him back for alternate southern parking locations if possible, (for the M40 travellers). Will post if I get more info. Please feel free to add any other Villa parking information here.

If you have a program from the pompey game then there's a page that has a map and a list of safe secure car parks. It also said that parking restrictions are very tight around the area.

I parked near the King Edward pub before and that was Ok. Definately do not park at the leisure centre (where all the coaches go i think) as it takes about an hour to get out. I am just going pick a place from the map on the Watford site and get their early so me and my mates can have a drink beforehand in town.
