Seasons Loanees For Next Season ?

Terribly disappointing yesterday to gift the game to Hull a pretty mediocre outfit.

AB promised us a passing game last season & never adhered to his promise. However we wont have that much in the transfer kitty . £12M in parachute payments plus selling off the deadwood in Francis, Ellington ,Demerit , Doyley, Avinel , Ashikodi , Aloi etc should gain us around £5M.

I would like us to invest some of the funds in loanees.Okay so they wont benefit us in the long run unless we go up next season as with WBA but they could then be persuaded to sign.

For the RB spot, Danny Simpson (Manchester Utd) or Chris Gunter (Tottenham). Upfront Tomas Pekhardt ,rangy tall centre forward(Tottenham) or Franco di Santo (Chelsea) very gifted lanky striker & Miroslav Stoch (left winger). Maybe even Scott Sinclair or Henri Lansbury (centre mid) Arsenal

These players have ability & would fit in with the new ethos & all are hungry for various reasons. We could blend them in with a set of 2-3 more experienced older players (personally I would like to see the Viking return).

Problem is the likes of QPR (Chelsea mark 2) who could offer more attractive terms.

Two permanent signings I would like to see are Wes Hoolahan (creative midfielder)& Kaspars Gorkks (no nonsense centre back & Latvia international) from Blackpool.

We could offer £2M plus a player in exchange.

    Thoughts ?

Gorkks? seem to remember him faking a injury to waste time when we play them, needs 3 years worths of hair cuts aswell

There's a tricky little left winger doing wonders at Swindon at the moment, maybe we could get him in on loan as he wouldn't cost too much.

Tis true. However he is the main reason for them staying up with Hoolahan. Cast in the Demerit mould & he is a threat at setpieces.

Pity McNamee was not given a real chance as with several kids but thats water under the bridge maccatwo. :)

    Agreed, good post!

Aidy has to use the loan market, and also free transfers...aswell as cutting the wage bill and shifting the dead wood!

Volz is on a free. Good solid right-back...we need that seeing as Doyley and Mariappa have proved over the last two games they're not good enough!

Davenport in for around £1,000,000. (Think both Danny and Jay will be gone to be honest).

I quite like Kevin Lisbie at Colchester. Quick, and not a bad finisher! Scored 17 goals in a poor Colchester side. Had a few good games for Charlton in the Premiership, and seem to remember him scoring a hat-trick against Liverpool a couple of seasons ago. He'd be quite cheap seeing as they've been relegated...could progress to be a half decent prem player!

Always like Hoolahan at Blackpool. Tricky player who delivers a good ball into the box from open play and set pieces!

Whoever he brings in, we need to play more football as we have over the past two games! If we do that then we can keep the likes of McAnuff and Williamson, who have both excelled recently with a new found passing game!

It was also good to see Henderson not having the ball punted at him all the time, and we managed to get the ball into his feet...no reason why he can't find a place in our new system!

    Key areas for me:

    Keeper
    Right-back
Centre-back x2 (Danny and Jay will be gone)

    Left-winger (natural left-footed player)
An attacking central midfielder (or play Smithy there)

Strikers x 2 (Sell Ellington, Hoskins and Ashikodi)

As per bubbles post, Lisbie has been around for 10 years and not really done it (hat trick against Liverpool excepted) until this season in the championship but he always seems to score against us if I remember, including on loan for Norwich, would be a good addition if free as I am sure reading somewhere that he only signed a 1 year contract when he joined Colchester.

Danny Simpson is a good call but would much rather Volz and Davenport again has got to be an option as I too reckon Shittu as least will go and possibly Jay.

    My priorities would be:
    Attacking mid
    right back
    Left wing
    Centerback(s)
    Striker(s)
    Keeper.

Agree I also think those are the key areas that we need players for - they were this time last year as well with exception of CB (because we had Shittu, Jay and Carlisle). I agree Volz and Davenport would be useful, as for Lisbie depends on the cost

Hopefully we'll get these guys or simliar players to them:

    GK: Colin Doyle
    RB: Moritz Volz
CB: Calum Davenport (if recovered well)
    CM: Ben Watson
    LM: Wes Hoolahan
    ST: Jermaine Beckford

Colin Doyle the brum keeper? he's ****.

Ben Watson I doubt he will come.

Volz will probably join a team fighting for relegation in the prem.

Beckford turned us down before and if Leeds go up he will stay.

Maybe not those players excatly but those type of players.

    Maybe Stuart Taylor for goal?

Have any of you heard of that 17 year-old Man Utd striker Danny Welbeck? He has been compared to a slightly shorter, quicker Kanu and has an excellent goalscoring record at reserve level (maybe even better than Campbell had). We would never be able to sign him permanently, even if we were promoted, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fergus was also looking to send him out on loan somewhere.

    Also, what about Anthony Gardner?

Fraser Campbell is never going to break into the first team at Manure, maybe we should approach him.

I agree that we need strengthening, particularly in the positions that Bubble mentioned. Maybe a few season long loans would help us, but would that just be papering over the cracks? We need to actually buy some players, spend what money we have on good players, not shyte player who are going to warm the reserve bench.
