Ah ok. Remember one going up for midweek games a few weeks ago so thought that was the norm. Fair enough. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it somewhere - Wouldn't want to miss out on maintaining my mid-table obscurity.
Does that mean you're thinking of annulling the points for the midweek game that this frequent player didn't end up playing? Oh, I do hope so. It's what Sepp would have wanted.
I'd love to, but I think others would see it as biased, considering I played that week and got a big fat zero.
Well there's a pretty obvious solution isn't there... Next year you can volunteer to run the game, and then you can enter in the 200-odd scores which we get each week, after a long day at work. Then you can choose to include the Carling Cup, FA Cup, international fixtures, the FA Trophy... whatever you like. Legs and I both decided to try and help out, as Meister could no longer commit enough time to keep the game running smoothly and we wanted it to continue. I know in an ideal world we would have the scores processed sooner and we would play more match weeks, but personally I think we have got a pretty decent competition this year and I'm having a lot of fun with it. There is just a limit to what we can do.

Seeing as only 35 odd people still seem to be entering scores, I think the majority of the other 26 or so at the bottom of the table have pretty much given up!

I blame bad luck, poor refereeing decisions, poor pitches and injuries for my disappointing results lately. Otherwise I'd be walking away with this.
old but still funny How to explain the offside rule to women. This is the "offside rule" explained for women: You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses. It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. The shop assistant remains at the till waiting. Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you. If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes! At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes! BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE!

Legs & Miked, I am speaking for myself, but I am sure that the sentiment would be shared by many others, when I say that I appreciate the time and commitment in keeping this competition going. I would not have the time to commit to it, so it is all the more important that we acknowledge your effort.

Yep. I see myself as the Manchester City of this competition - fabulous talent but somehow lacking something somewhere. If only I could be like Leicester and HH24 - unfancied but devastatingly effective.
