Do we have someone in control of Public Relations, not Mark Ashton surely? Then it is time for him to be accountable.
Lets look at this week, first the Marlon King arrest story breaks, the Daily Mail publishes & nothing from the club, quiet the contrary to how the club acted when Marlon allegedly fell foul of the Jamaican international team orders.
Then Hockaday is sacked, again nothing from the club & the Daily Mail runs the scoop again.
After the Marlon incident, I thought perhaps a witness at the night club or an errant policeman leaked the story, after the Hockaday incident, I am thinking their is a disenfranchised employee within the club at a senior level who is leaking this.
Now, isn't PR 101 to control the media, our friend Ashdon thinks he can ignore them, wow what a poor decision.
Perhaps he should look at Blair, detestable though he is, he at least puts his spin on all story's & milks them to his own advantage. Had the club immediately made a statement, any statement, they would have nullified the story in the Mail and controlled to some extent the story's that are circulating. To be a premier league side and think like a conference league side is dangerous if not suicidal to the cause.

The PR man got sacked about 6 months ago called Richard Walker.

Maybe this guy is not very good and needs to go as well?

However the club were told by the police were told not to say much whilst an investigation was taking place into the King 'ALLEGATIONS'

    WFC4Ever,
You make my point for me, how on earth do you know what the police told the club?
My point is if they say something, it dilutes or nullifies the rumors, if they say nothing, it fuels them.
A simple statement to say " We are aware of an incident involving one of our players, at this time the club does not wish to comment publicly on an issue that is currently under investigation. We are cognisant that no charges have been laid at the current time & no one has been found guilty, the club & the player would appreciate that understanding from all parties."

  5. they tried the old cover up trick, twice.the first time they, got away with it, the second they got caught out by the daily mail.

Someone at the club has been leaking serious stuff for a long time now. That's what needs sorting out. It is gross misconduct and a sackable offence and everyone should be reminded of that.

Iain Moody is now the main man following Tony Yorkes departure. he very much is an Aidy man.

Ashton brought in Scott Field who as you can guess worked at WBA.

What I find curious about the whole thing is that the stories about King and Hockaday have only appeared in the Daily Mail. Why is this? Surely if you were displeased with the club or wanted to leak information to the press you'd contact more than one national newspaper about it. Why haven't any other newspapers picked up on this story? I think that is rather strange to be honest. Normally some toilet rag such as the News of the World or Daily Mirror picks up on these kind of stories and milks them for all they're worth. Maybe the Daily Mail has got something against Watford FC?

All the media have a thing against Watford!

I'm thinking there may be a reporter inside the club, or with a good (bad) informer in the club
