Russia vs Czech Republic, KO 7.45pm (ITV1)

Second game of the Euros.

I reckon this one will not be as open as the first game, with Russia to edge it, 2-1

 

Gonna see how many games of the Euro's I can watch in a row. Won't be all of them though, gonna give away my social life in 2014 just for that.

Here's hoping that we get a similar game quality wise, though I doubt it.

 

My plan is to see how many I can watch... however the final round of group fixtures all kick-off at 7.45pm, so that could cause issues.

 

Russia 1-0 up. Quick tempo start to the game. Emphatic finish after Kerzhakov's header came back off the post.

Ashdon, if the commitment is there and the last fixtures are all BBC/ITV differing each day, i.e. BBC has on 7:45 KO, ITV has the other, then you'd be able to watch the BBC one on iPlayer...

 

Another decent game so far.

Why do Euro games seem to have a much higher tempo than games in the World Cup? End to end so far.

Not a great start for the Czech's.... 2-0 Russia inside 25 minutes.

 

I know it's a bit of a cliche but everything about ITV annoys me.

The joke that is Adrian Chiles, the sh*t pundits and over dramatic, scripted commentators with their constant need to mention Howard Webb simply because he is English makes me feel like I'm watching a different competition to the earlier game which the BBC did.

I'm not even going to watch this game anymore; the coverage is that bad and is actually giving me a bit of a headache.

 

Or, TV on one, laptop on the other (Will probably be the way to go!)

 

Agreed. Surprised they haven't played an advert in a key moment of the game yet.
I've got it on mute and 5live on.

 

Also does anyone know why Akinfeev isn't playing? I thought he was supposed to be one of the best keepers around.

 

To be fair ITV's football coverage has got a lot better since the world cup, sure Chiles is a love him or hate him character but Roy Keane is a decent pundit whilst the commentators are decent enough. How exactly can it be scripted!?!

Czech Republic look awful at the back, could be goals here, especially if Russia get the next one. 4-1 Russia i reckon.

 

Keane is OK and I quite like Southgate as well despite his annoying voice but I just can't stand Chiles or any of their commentators.

By scripted I mean that you can tell that they obviously write (or have written for them) little jokes or phrases beforehand which they think sound clever, which just makes the whole thing sound really forced and insincere. For example, when South Africa scored in the first game of the World Cup the commentator did this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26TWzh1fVLI and today when Russia scored he shouted something similarly irritating and pre-meditated.

 

I know what you mean about the commentry. He's full of little quips and clever puns. Just commentate on the fecking game!

the russians look very dangerous. arshavin had his best game of the season, you can't help but feel he just does not perform for arsenal. also great goal by pavy.
