Got to feel sorry for Rotherham , I really doubt they all caught Covid to avoid playing , if it had been Muff I might have believed it.

we really need to reduce the Goal Difference so need to go all out for a large win and then hope that Swansea screw up their game in hand.

Rotherham 0 Watford 2 - enough to win, but not enough to wipe out Brentford’s goal difference

These games are very rarely as easy as everyone thinks they should be, first we have to break the mass defence they will put up against us, hopefully score some quick goals and unlike our home game against them make it easy on ourselves and score more than two! Then when the mission is completed we can sub a few players put them in cotton wool ready for Saturday and give others a chance!

We have done really well away recently (cheating muff excepted) if we can bring three points back from the likes of Blackburn and Cardiff we should certainly not settle for anything less tomorrow evening!

This is the most "on paper, we should win this" game of our lifetimes. I'm nervous.

    I'm always nervous.
I don't recall being this nervous when I was young or even younger.
It's a bit like the suicide pill in Blackadder III,the Scarlet Zinkernagel episode.
I go through a brief period of exquisite happiness ( assuming we have won) followed by increasing concern, anxiety and then downright worry, round about....now!

2-1 to Watford. Ian Bolton will score from the halfway line. You heard it here first.

Routine win. Pedro, Sarr and Hughes off at half time to keep them fresh for another routine win on Saturday.

We don't have a great record against this sort of "down on luck should be an easy win" type of team. Especially a midweek game with long coach journey involved.
However with our steady progression lately I expect a win, just not sure we will get goals that we need to make mass subs by the 60th minute..???
Would be nice to be proven wrong..!!

Or at least would have travelled up today to a nice hotel which I am sure Foster will show off!

We do have a great record against Rotherham though they have not got a goal passed us since 2004. I highly doubt that we will be travelling by coach, I imagine we flew into Sheffield/Doncaster airport today and are currently staying in a five star hotel.

I think your caution is fully justified. It’d be lovely if we did score a hatful, but I predict a 1-2 hard fought victory. Troost Ekong will get the winner in the 96th minute, with a solo effort, marauding his way past 7 players from the halfway line and looking up for the first time and chipping the goalie.

I do feel sorry for the Millers and all that covid. But it’s somehow fitting that a team that sounds like a very high tar brand of cigarettes should splutter.

Been reading their fan forums and they all seem to think Warney is playing games with us. Naughty boy! Stating that his press conference was nothing but a mind game and that all the players bar 2/3 from their normal starting 11 are fit and ready to go.

Majority of them are very confident of beating us, which I admire their confidence.

Just hope we don’t think all we need to do is walk on the pitch to get the three 3 points.

We really need to get an early goal and a quick fire second. As others have said, we need to be looking at really improving our GD in the next 3 games. We’re playing 3 teams that on paper, you would be disappointed to not put at least 3 past them.

Next three games are all about mindset. Got to be ruthless, not complacent, have a killer mentality and attack for 90mins. Do that and we will be sitting pretty in 2nd.

Feeling very nervous about this - more so than I was ahead of the Cardiff game. Never like it when we go into a match that, on paper, should be a “slam dunk”.
Watford, please don’t be Watfordy in this game.

Reminds me of the Burnley game after lockdown, where everything seemed to be in our favour, then we didn't turn up and went down to a really meek defeat.

I’m not sure what the Rotherham did,
But they all got struck with Covid.
    Despite their 10 day rest,
    We’ll still be the best,
And further our Premier League bid.

I’m not sure if it was through injuries, or maybe having a big cup game, but there was talk from both sets of fans that we’d absolutely annihilate Reading towards the end of our promotion season. As it is we won 4-1 so I’d certainly take that.

Just read that and it was one post, so quite how you get to "they all seem to think" is impressive. It's like taking one of our posts here that says we're going to win 8-0 and saying all Watford fans are ridiculously arrogant about the game.

Go at them hard for the first 45 mins and put the game out of reach. Roth 0-4 Watford.

Definite banana skin tonight, Rotherham have been fairly quiet which suggests one of two things, (1) they will have their full first team available, (2) their first team is decimated and will need some U21s/U18s to make up the numbers. Of course we will know at 6pm. The other issue is whether their players are refreshed from not playing for two weeks or not match sharp.

The question I would like to see answered is how did they allow not one but two covid outbreaks during this season? There must have been some negligence somewhere. Even with Gray etc al, we only had a couple of players each time isolating.

Because they’re northern, so they also have to work down the mines in close contact with others when they’re not playing football.

I was amazed when I met Rosie Casals when I was 13.
She was tidily poo! Barely 5' I'd say. Evert was small too. Navratilova and Laver only 5'7".
Tennis nerves are different because I'm in control of my own/my partner's destiny.
Being remote is excruciating,as we've touched on before.
When we we're at the Vic or at an away game at least we thought we had some influence on proceedings.
Now we're impotent, apart from superstitions and other mumbo jumbo that some of us resort to!

He was although I could never look at him without thinking he was Ant or Dec.
I never know which is which,I'm happy to say, although I suspect Ant or Dec would have been equally neat and tidy but may have managed to pass forwards once in a blue moon.
Not as tidily poo as Rosie though and probably not as good a doubles player either.
