I've put this in here as it's not so much football related. Looking at something from a work perspective and want to know how it works in the Rookery with ordering from the touchscreens... Do any of you order food / drinks via the screens? Does it work or is it more hassle than it's worth? Where do you collect from and do you have to show anything to collect? Are the queues to collect long? Can you do it on an App as well as the touchscreen? I sit in the Family Stand and didn't even know this existed. They shut off the bar between Family Stand and GT stand on Saturday as it was "full" with 60 people in there.
I think it's one of the rare things the club get right in my experience. As far as I'm aware, there isn't an app, and you just input your order onto the kiosks facing the catering stands. You can order for immediate collection or pre-order for HT. When paying, you're given a receipt that you hand over to the staff who then give you your food/drink etc. Thumbs up from me and definitely something that should be rolled out across the ground.
Thanks. Are the queues pretty small when you go to pick it up? Do the majority use this or just queue up at the bar as usual?
The longest I've waited is around 5 minutes when I've used the kiosks before, but I've probably used them a handful of times. There are still queues at the bar, but unsure if this is made up of people who are collecting pre-ordered items and/or those making impulse purchases.
From what I remember there wasn't a designated collection point, I just strolled up to the nearest (free) person serving and handed my receipt over.
I used them once last season. You can't order at the V-Bar without pre-ordering through the kiosk things. So no walk ups. You buy through the kiosk then walk up with the printed out ticket to claim your drink. Which they then pour on the spot, so there's no time saving.
Works really well if Im honest. Much better experience than the SEJ stand with the long queues. queue of 2 at most maybe no one for the plentiful payment kiosks then straight over for food and drink. Not had to queue for that. Frees the food staff up for just doing food and drinks and not transactions of money.
It works really well before the game half an hour or so before kick-off, by taking out the payment element from the server. I have no idea what it's like at half-time, though.
