I was just scrolling the BBC's site looking for a quote about Keith Flint when up popped the sad news about Magenta Devine:

For about two years, her 10 min film review spot of the BBC WS's 'youth' programme 'The Edge' was the highlight of my, and most of the Vilnius ex-pate teaching crowd's, week. It's a shame that none have been archived as they were all extremely 'near the knuckle' and used to make the show's hosts (Kirsten O'Brien and Stephen Merchant - I think it was his first BBC gig before he was sent off on the in-house producers course which lead to 'The Office') audibly wince on air.

    Another one sadly passes.
Kim.. AKA Magenta, was the top "rock chick" of the 70's music scene in my hometown of Aylesbury, becoming well known for attending Friars gigs dressed in stuff you'd only see up the Kings Road or in Hollywood. She worked as a music journalist to begin with before moving to television. I guess people will remember her for the Rough Guide travel series and numerous "yoof" programmes.
I hadn't realised until yesterday her father was the proprietor of a toy shop in Aylesbury that we all used to frequent (Taylor & McKenna) I think there was also one in Hemel.
    RIP
