Riot Squad: We are here

I don't expect many to particularly CARE about this, but the much maligned fan of footy in America can be seen in their native habitat here. These are little films of some banner days the LA Riot Squad (LARS) had supporting the Galaxy over the last couple years. The Galaxy's derby is against the Chivas "goats", and these come from derby matches.

Chivas are famous for having scantily clad bimbos of dubious parentage walking around the sidelines. LARS did a fair sendup of them a while back...

Here we spook the Chivas keeper into a miserably delightful performance.
    LARS v Guzan

Here we lampoon former Chivas (current US MNT) coach Bob Bradley in the last derby of the season last year.

Just watched those 2 youtube videos and I'm sort of lost for words

Love the way the little white picket fence kept the riot squad in place, and I enjoyed the goal celebrations in the 2nd video.

I'm not trying to impress you. Consider it a documentary.

American sports fans rarely fight. It's not something we are interested in. Not that it doesn't happen, but it is rare.
(This is the closest I've seen it get:
Chivas fans give LARS a round of drinks (w*a*n*k*e*r*s))
Note the guy saying "DO NOT THROW ANYTHING BACK".

One theory (it's my own) is that since we legally have the "right to bear arms" (i.e. legally possess firearms), fights result in deaths, so fighting = suicidal behaviour and may result in lengthy prison terms. There's no gentlemen's agreement to fight the queens rules...once you pass the border of civility, all bets are off, and people die. Assuredly.

It's not 1970's England here. It's not 1970's England there either...and I think only the idiots think that crap was "cool".

We are really only there to have fun, not fight. People who fight are thought of as being "pretend English fans", whatever the fack that's supposed to mean.

Stupid to be doing anything like that in the first place, clearly a bunch of boneheaded morons who think they're football fans.

Put football factory back in it's case and get real, it's pretty much dead, CCTV and the relevant authorities are well on top of it. Just because a few pikies throw things at each other outside a pub doesn't a)make the football fans of either of those teams or b)mean that it happens everywhere there is football.

    Deary me.

ok maybe everywhere was abit too much but to say its non existant is incorrect.

from my personal experiences at football matches i have seen alot of violence quite similar to the one in that video(not the chivas one;D ) but i suppose your right saying its not everywhere but it is still very much apart of modern day footballing society. eg feynoord(sp?) recently being thrown out of europe coz of it.

clubs like watford and other relatively small clubs(compared to major clubs with millions of fans) may not have many ,if any of these sort of "fans" but you're always going to get these type of people, it just so happens that the club i support in ireland, Shamrock Rovers, nearly every fan is like this, but so is every other fan at every other irish football club.

although it may be being stamped out over there, its on the increase over here.:(

It's clearly not part of modern day footballing society, it was back in the 80s and early 90s but it's about as rare as an overweight Ethiopian at club level over here. The odd scuffle but that's it, the only times it comes to the forefront of british football is at major international tournaments where all the boneheaded idiots manage to get themselves in one place.

Shame the police don't tkae the initiative and fence them and either shoot them all or let them kick each other to a pulp.
