Just a question of how quickly the medical stuff gets sorted - if there were no issues at all and nothing which required further tests/checks/info, it should be tonight
He's been in the loving care of our infamous medical 'experts' for 12 months. If I were you I'd be checking he's not a cut and shut.
So if it's not announced tonight then they've found something and the deal is off ? They do need to bear in mind the poor little lamb didn't get a proper rest between the Brazilian season ending and joining us last season so his body is probably shot to pieces. But your DD reports would have revealed that anyway. Fortunately despite being worth £50m he didn't get close to making the Brazilain WC squad which would have left him too tired to even speak.
Do you mind? This thread has given me more entertainment than watching Richarlison trying to head the ball in a given direction, and that was bloody funny.
Most times a thread goes off topic, it's usually as a result of people trying to outpun each other, and it gets progressively worse. This thread, however, is getting better and better the further down the 9/11 stick-a-colander-on-your-head-and-cover-your-bedroom-in-kitchen-foil rabbit hole we go.
Worth a watch to see a couple of pundits lose it about how Everton are out of their minds: https://twitter.com/zonalmista/status/1021422613074202624?s=12
What are you talking abou...oh right (sees your wink). Yes absolutely. Unless Everton sign Gray then Richarlison will not be a success (Winks back).
It would be funnier if he had a **** off big watch and a silva mask , but would take a I love george bush / 911 didn’t happen t shirt
Or "Watford agree to sell Richarlison for 40m rising to 50m, but won't sign the paperwork until everton pay extra 10m compo for silva".
So what's the general Everton opinion on this? Value for money, gamble, madness? Obviously we're prone to look at the side that benefits us, but it genuinely does look like an amateur negotiator pandering to his manager's whim to keep the apple cart in place.
Everton head of recruitment 'Marcel Brands'(I think) is going to be massively under pressure if they're not top 6 come Christmas. Personally can't wait for the drama to unfold at Everton
I'm hearing 45m up front, 5m addon if he lives to 22 years old. 2 year deal at 100k a week. Coming straight back on loan next season.
In fairness its hard to disagree with them. At this stage of his career he isn't worth anywhere near what their paying. There was a piece in the Liverpool echo earlier in which Silva stated the club should sign 6 players before the window closes as he doesnt think January is the time to do it. The powers that be at Everton would be happy with fewer signings and while u get the usual guff from Silva about giving the existing players a chance, it did sound eerily similar to last summer
While I don't have any worthwhile contacts in the football world, I do have reliable access to the best authentic conspiracy theories around and would be more than happy to share them. At least, I would if you weren't part of the Deep State.
Bloody pundits are going to ruin it for us! Shut up, muppets! Rich is worth at least Eleventy One million, he's a snip at a mere 50m!
Generally the opinion is that he's a talented player, at the right age, who has Premier League experience and has worked under Silva before. I tend to share this view - I don't have any problem at all with him being a target (He wasn't first choice. Lozano played his way into a daft price tag at the World Cup, Malcom preferred a move to Italy and Zaha was always going to be a stretch). The concern for most is what the price tag is - most people seem to agree that it's a guaranteed £35m, which is sort of reasonable (nobody was batting an eyelid at £32m for Malcom). I think the issue will be if it turns out that the add-ons are achievable and push the deal close to £50m. As promising as Richarlison has looked, there are still question marks over him to a degree and not sure us making him our record signing stacks up. Having said that, to buy from Watford this summer was always going to involve paying over the odds Reluctant to pass judgement on this transfer in isolation. Would rather look at what the window delivers as a whole - Everton have had a disastrous two years in the transfer market and we need to lower the age of the squad this summer, whilst shifting a lot of dead wood and addressing a few real areas of concern. Richarlison, as one element of that, I have no real issue with
Unless Richarlison turns into Mbappe, Neymar or Ronaldo his value will never really go much further beyond what Everton are paying. And realistically what are the chances of him becoming one of the top 5 elite players in the world? I mean it could happen, but you’ve got to say the odds are massively stacked against this happening, as they are for 99.999% of all players. The Pozzos have also turned down big money offers for players before, and in hindsight its ended up costing them (Ighalo and Deeney) at the time it probably seemed like the right decision to most of us as well, but they’ve probably learned a bit from that. They’re in a win win position with it being Everton, they can basically name the price that makes the deal perfect for them. Any Everton fan who thinks they aren’t paying over the odds is completely deluded. Gino simply wouldn’t sell and especially to Everton if it wasn’t for it being a laughably good price.
