This team are the junior equivalent to Huracan who are currently in Primera B in the Argentine pyramid. This is not an uncommon occurrence in Argentina. Officials held a strike about violence directed towards them from players and fans alike several years ago.

Unfortunately the ruling politicians are in cahoots with the big daddy in charge of Argentine football a certain Humberto Grondona who has lined his pockets and Swiss bank accounts with millions while doing nothing to tackle the scourge of violence in Argentine football and in particular the barra brava gangs who make European Ultras look tame.

They extort money from players even beat them up and have hands in various dubious operations which includes drug running. Which is a shame because Argentine football matches have some of the best if not best atmospheres anywhere in world football along with very powerful and interesting chants and songs.

I like the article though. Rolando Schiavi is an ageing experienced centreback who was in his best form for Newells a few years ago. His brother who has been jailed is certainly no footballing star considering the team he is playing for is in the equivalent of what would be our Conference North.
